For those that missed the Texas-Nebraska game, all I can say is that you missed one hell of a game today (best college game this season, imho). It had upset written all over it until the Huskers shot themselves in the foot with a crucial turnover late in the 4th quarter. The Longhorns did just enough to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat but as much as I love 'em, they certainly didn't deserve this win.

BTW, there was a game thread that was started over on the Sports Zone message board but it met with little fanfare. Perhaps we could generate more participation in games like this if we had a true college message board here at the Zone. Just a suggestion, especially when you consider the actual number of UT fans that we have as members here.

Nebraska had that game in hand. Yes, the turnover was critical, but so was Callahan's clock management prior to the winning field goal.

Smarter use of his timeouts would have helped had everything stayed the same. They would have had two shots from the 40 after the ignorant personal foul on Texas.

I can see why Oakland gave up on him and Nebraska boosters are less than enthralled.

ND is giving up the big play again- UCLA has done nothing else. ND needs to get its act together. Our loss of the two starting LB's had really hurt us- they helped out a lot with covering backs and short passes- the secondary is still the weak point of this team.

I was referring to the 2005 Rose Bowl at the end of the 2004 Season when VY led us down for a game-winning FG to beat your beloved Wolverines as time expired. Hey, he plays for the good guys now and what he does from this point forward has no effect what so ever on the College game. Roy can keep making plays to his heart's content as long as he is doing it in a Cowboys jersey.

You must get by Ohio State first, and that will not happen. However, I am hoping UM wins out until OSU game. The winner goes to play for the national championship game. So a big 10 team will represent the conference. And that is good.

It's all in good fun. I will be having to root for the Buckeyes later this season since it makes our loss to them look better. Good luck in every other game though.
