Both our starting Tackles are severly injured and they might not even play next season, without good OTs all our talent is wasted and Dak is a huge target too

Id rather run it back with Terrence Steele and Brandon Knight than to watch that awful run for defense another season.

We need DTs more than anything else on this team

Both are playing man. I have no idea where y’all are getting this stuff that they aren’t playing from. Unless something changes, it’s smart to operate on the basis that Tyron and Lael will be our starting T’s next year. These guys are squarely in the FO’s plans. We have ample interior depth especially if we resign Looney, if not we might see another interior drafted. If we don’t resign Erving we could draft a developmental swing in rounds 3-4. Other than that though don’t expect many O-lineman.

It's a need. It's not the biggest need.

If one watched the Cowboys, saw our DTs get chucked around like rag dolls or watch our S and CBs get abused and reached the conclusion OT was our biggest need, I'd think they had actually been watching the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

All positions need to be addressed outside of WR, and hell maybe even Punter... I kinda like the new guy as for Jones he needs to be escorted to the exit.

you trust Stephen Jones? Lael had no cartilage in his hip

there is a good chance both Tackles may never play again,if we want a great offense we need backup plans,we dont need to draft a OT in the 1st RD to make it happen.

It really really depends on Collins and Tyrons health.

I am concerned about both. But we honestly don’t know enough information.

I wouldn’t hate a tackle pick at #10 but it isn’t our biggest need.

if one of Collins or Tyron can’t play. I bet Martin moves to tackle full time and McGovern goes to guard full time.

which would still be good IMO.

IF you want run stuffers than buy them in FA.

They don't make a big enough impact on games. There is no excuse for us to get rushed on like we did and we don't need to go out and spend that kind of pick for a run stuffer.

3 techniques will go quick if they can disrupt the passer. Doesn't sound like this draft will have any of those types.

This draft class is deep.
D. Brown or B. Cleveland OG can be had in the 3rd round and they are both very good OGs.
Then the OT market. Walker little or Mayfield might wanna watch those two.
Wish on a trade back to gain another 2nd rounder and still nab a top flight CB but we need 2 Cbs. I think FA for the Sm Justin Simmons???

I completely agree. I think OL is fine and down the list as far as needs.

DT, LB, safety and corners are all most pressing needs

One of the silver linings here to this crap season was that we had a lot of guys get experience playing along the OL and we got some insights into who can play and who can't. McGovern looks like he might have a future. Between Knight and Steele, you probably have two guys that can absolutely be swing tackles. Biadasz looks like he can be, at the very worst, a competent OC.

Draft an OT, for example, with one of your two 3rd round picks and I think what you have is the makings of a really good OL. Sure, a lot will depend on Smith and Collins, but if only one is back and can play, I still think OL isn't as terrible as people claim.

I saw one mock that had us going defense with the first two picks and then we grabbed Eichenberg in the 3rd at OT (I suspect he goes before that). That would be fine with me.

I don't have a problem with this. I haven't seen what sloppy DTs are out there but I think if I am using a premium (1st or 2nd) round pick on a DT, he has to be more of a 3T than a 1T/NT type.

Well I don’t think anyone is advocating for a pure run stuffing DT with the #10 pick.

if we were blessed to have a fletcher cox type available with #10 I would run to the podium with that pick. But this draft doesn’t have one like him.

I would absolutely love it if they found a run stuffing DT available in the second or 3rd though.

The team does need more beef in the middle to keep the LB’s clean.

I do think a guy like Snacks Harrison can have a big impact on a defense. I don’t know if there’s anyone in the draft available that projects to be like him. But if there is.... they should be looking at him with a later pick. IMO

If it is a fact that they can’t play next season then obviously OT is huge
I just don’t buy that neither will play next year

So is Stephen saying they are going to resign McCoy?

I think they will kick the tires. And it's not a bad move to bring him back IMO. The have to revamp the DT position.

Now, having said that, if they bring in McCoy, find another bargain bin DT who isn't very good like Poe, and then throw some late round picks at DT, that's likely not going to solve anything. McCoy can't be the biggest name acquired in their overhaul of the DT position.
