Yes, the NBA wanted to devise a plan to make it where the Spurs would in game 6. They decided to take out Jason freakin' Terry by making up that he threw a punch.

Hey, I have no doubt David Stern might tell the refs "Help the spurs out a bit so we can go to game 7" but I doubt even that loser would make something like this up.

And I don't need to prove a **** thing to call you a homer. You ARE homers, and it was obvious before the Terry deal.

wow rack, just wow..

First of all, I don't believe in conspiracy theories like that. Did it seem obvious to you that Terry threw a punch, OTHER THAN WHAT FINLEY SAID?

Did you ever think that the league is just taking Finley's word for this, and charging Terry?

Once again, show me proof that Terry threw the punch.

How are we more of homers than the San Antonio fans on here? Just a question: Why do you talk about the NBA if you hate it so much?

i was at the game, and had a clear view of what happened, ginobili was on the ball WAY before he called timeout, finley came bc he was going after the ball and so after the refs had called the jump ball, terry was frustrated and punched finley in the jewels. you say that they should have not suspended him because they didnt do anything to evans, but think about this....would rather have someone grabbing your balls or punching them??? which is more damaging? i think you know which youd pick, and it was a deliverate attempt to hurt an opossing player.

if you want to talk about officiating look at the tapes of games three and four, parker gets TRIPPED by howard at the end of the game and nothing is called....then dork nowitski steps on duncans foot and somehow duncan gets called for a foul and fouls out....then in game four the call on bruce was HORRIBLE and they call a bs technical for "delay of game" and with that last free throw the game goes into over time instead of the game ending in regulation, and without ginobili (also a victim of a hidious call) we couldnt compete

so in conclusion i dont think you can blame the refs for anything considering they have given the mavs 2 games.

PUNCHING, FIGHTING AND ELBOW FOULS

Violent acts of any nature on the court will not be tolerated. Players involved in altercations will be ejected, fined and/or suspended.

Officials have been instructed to eject a player who throws a punch, whether or not it connects, or an elbow which makes contact above shoulder level. If elbow contact is shoulder level or below, it shall be left to the discretion of the official as to whether the player is ejected. Even if a punch or an elbow goes undetected by the officials during the game, but is detected during a review of a videotape, that player will be penalized.

There is absolutely no justification for fighting in an NBA game. The fact that you may feel provoked by another player is not an acceptable excuse. If a player takes it upon himself to retaliate, he can expect to be subject to appropriate penalties.

Then why is Finley not suspended? His swipe at Terry's side and head are more blatant than anything Terry did or didnt do.

You're right, you can't see squat on that grainy video

The TNT angle from the live game showed Finley hitting Terry in the chest

We should view the recent events as an injury, nothing more nothing less.

Besides, if we drop game 6 tommorrow, we still have Terry for Game 7.

Remember, we have had injuries throughout the course of the year and still had great success.

Im ticked off but hey, that's life.

So you really think that if there was a video of Finley hitting Terry he wouldnt have been suspended also?

Yes, I do

David Stern is clearly taking his anger out on Mark Cuban through suspending Terry and spiting the Mavs

Too bad Dallas will destroy SA and Stern's agenda wont be fulfilled.

But whatever the case, Finley clearly jumps on Terry on hits him in the side of the chest

Then it should be real easy for you to find a video of it ...... ;)

They justed showed that play from alot of diff angles on ESPN

Finley did NOT slam into Terry hard ..... he didnt have his hip on his head and only thing he touched was the ball.

Terry was mad ...... pure and simple ..... he acted like a thug and he has to pay for it.

To bad that a dumb bone headed move could cost the Mavs their chance to end the Spurs season.

I'm starting to seriously question your rationality. ;)

I hope you're more logical than this when you're arguing on behalf of the Cowboys. :p:

Terry obviously punched Finley... whether or not it merited a suspension, I don't know. It didn't look that bad, especiall after the Reggie Evans crotch grab. But he definitely hit him on purpose. Whether or not Finley hit his head doesn't really matter, because that was obviously simply a happenstance of him going for the ball. Terry's hit was an intentional punch. There's a big difference there.

But I wish he wouldn't have been suspended. I'm afraid it will wake Nowitiski up... he's far more dangerous in my opinion.

As for your conspiracy theory, I'm not sure it holds up. The league -- for years -- has hated the fact that the Spurs do well and make it to the finals because they are from such a small market and they play a "boring" style and have a "boring" superstar. I'm sure they'd love it for the Spurs to get eliminated... although you're probably right about no love lost for Cuban.

watch that and tell me he didnt hit him in the jimmies and also notice that ginobili was on the ball when he "called timeout"

This is the only angle I've seen which seems to show Terry punching Finley. Does it deserve a suspension? Heck no! This is the NBA inconsistently enforcing their own rules.

One good thing though ... at least the game last night and this have got all the Spurs fans to stop whinning about the refs.

I will bet that if someone punched you in the Nuts you would feel different.

It was a dirty cheap shot on a guy who used to be his team mate.

The only punch here is Mike Finley's left hand in Jason Terry's chest

Are you honestly claiming Terry didn't punch him? It's 100% obvious in the video. Even Cuban admitted it happened, he just defended the motivation and called the punishment too harsh, which I somewhat agree with.
