I've been saying watch out for Miles Austin for awhile now

and I would not be mad at all if we didn't resign Hamlin, and Watkins was our starting FS

I agree, I think Miles Austin could end up being something.

 has this world gone mad?

no the world went mad when they said this man had the dropsie based of the Commanders games and didn't factor in the fact the Witten also had drops in the game.

yeah, I always thought it was stupid that his career was predetermined on that game

Miles Austin's career wasn't predestiney based solely on the last Skins game. It was a combination of that game & his play during most of the TC & preseason games. He saved his butt when he played well in last preseason game against competition from another WR we cut who the Cards eventually signed as their #4 WR; I think his name was Jeremiah ?.

I'm not going to get overly excited that Austin is catching everything in 2nd day of the OTAs. I'll hold off until he does the same thing in TC & some of the preseason games. If he does take a giant step & becomes a big contributor in our passing game in 08, I'll be the first one to say I was totally wrong about him. As a Cowboy fan, I'd be more then delighted to do so.

Jerheme Urban. I remember him mostly for completely TRUCKING a guy on a punt return for a TD against Minnesota in the last preseason game. :laugh2:

 Bobby Carpenter, meanwhile, was taking reps with the third group of linebackers, at the 'Mo', where Burnett was getting second-team reps.

:bang2: definitly not encouraging

That wouldn't describe it.

It is borderline pathetic.

I guess that means McQ is at guard? 3rd tackle?

yeah I think McQuistan is moving to guard...around the draft I remember some people in here saying Marten was moving to guard, but I never heard/saw the Cowboy people ever say that.

 Mike Jenkins got plenty of reps with the starters, though he did also see action with the "2s". When the team went into its sub packages, and Terence Newman kicked down to the slot, Jenkins saw some time outside on the right side, opposite Anthony Henry. And he looked better today than a few weeks ago at the minicamp, though he did get beat badly down the field by Patrick Crayton once. Outside that, he showed an ability to stick with almost anyone he was faced with, and got his hands on the ball.

Is anybody else confused by this? Does Terence not play on the left anymore because of his foot? Or does Henry switch to the left in the nickel?

** Some people are down him after the 2007 regular-season finale vs. Washington, but Miles Austin caught everything Wednesday. And by everything, we mean everything. He made several adjustments to throws behind him and hung on for the catch. This is a big year for Austin and I'm on record saying he has the most potential of the in-house receivers the Cowboys need to make a big jump in 2008.

Championship!

I think this has more to do with the staff getting a good look at Jenkins than making a change

It's not based on that game. It's based on 5 catches in two years and a slew of other factors that are not in his favor.

Newman was in playing the slot in those situations.......we did that several times last season as well
