Everybody has been talking about our needs at wr and in the secondary. Is that all, or are there other needs that might look fine now but can be a big problem for us next season. What do you guys think?

For starters, do we franchise Flo, or let him go.
Will it be to early to let one of the young OL, MQ, Free, Or Marten step up.

Improvement at every position should always be a goal. Realistically, I could see some changes at NT, LT, LG, S, DE, and ILB...besides the obvious issues at RB, CB, and WR.

I'd like to see us address things like this for example:

RB - keep Barber, draft in top two rounds.
CB - draft one in the first, another early on day two (too expensive in FA)
WR - Look at the FA market, draft in top 4 rounds.

NT - keep what we've got, maybe draft a late rounder
LT - try to resign adams, get Free, McQuistan, Martin, and Co. ready.
LG - I like Kosier, but we need more out of him next year, draft mid to late rounder
S - re-sign Hamlin, pray Williams gets his head out of his arse. Draft mid rounder
DE - finally got a glimpse of talent hear late last year. we got talent here. FA?
ILB - We need more production out of Akin...Carp "gets it" next year? Burnett? Draft mid to late.

Need to get better pass coverage from our LB's, mostly Ellis, Ayodele, and Burnett.

Need to improve special teams coverage units.

Need Gurode to improve his shotgun snaps.

What about Tight End? If Witten goes down, we're toast.

An upgrade over Fasano would be nice.

Having a back up better than Fasano would be nice but its not an absolute need and shouldn't take away from far more glaring needs. It's not like you're going to get anyone in the draft that would be so much better than Anthony that the loss of Witten wouldn't still hurt us a ton.

WR, CB, and RB are all absolute needs.

Then some ILB, Safety, and OL depth are the next major draft positions. Throw FB in there as well.

RB, WR, LT, ILB, CB, FS, KR. Those are the things this team has to address.

I think you need 2 RBs for next season because I don't think Julius or Tyson are here next year. Give me a vet I can depend on a little and a young RB, and I'll be happy. One of them needs to have some breakaway speed though, and I would like it even more if they could help in the return game.

WR is obvious. Everyone loves Stanback's potential, but I would like to have another basket to put some eggs in. I still like the Roy Williams idea, but I think you need some kind of another playmaker for that group.

LT may be Flozell. If it's not, you better be sure about who you're putting there because Romo needs to be protected.

I would like better player at ILB. Bradie James is very good, but Ayodele didn't do much for me this year. Maybe the answer is already on the roster with either Burnett or even Carpenter stepping up. I'd like another player though. Heck, I wouldn't even mind picking up another pass rusher, although I wouldn't want to spend another first round pick on one.

CB is the other obvious need, and I figure that a young player makes more sense at that position. I think the team feels pretty good about Alan Ball, and I think Oglesby might be able to stick too, believe it or not.

FS should be Hamlin.

KR, as mentioned earlier, might be a receiver you add or a RB, but I think you need to upgrade that spot.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. Fasano would start on half the teams in this league.

Agreed

The guy is a solid blocker and has some pass catching ability. He's just stuck behind a top 3 TE in the league. The guy contributes. Curtis does the same. They are solid depth.

Draftees who could make the team, pushing some dead weight off the roster:

We're set at OT with McQ, Free, and Martin all young guys, the latter two drafted last season, but that doesn't mean if a stud drops, you don't take him. Adams was a first round talent that found his way to round 2.

An OG could definitely make this team, and I expect us to draft one this year...our depth isn't very good if a starter goes down.

We won't draft another TE this year.

A drafted QB would make the team this year.

Obviously, a RB, FB, and WR could all make the team this year.

On defense:

A DT/NT could make the team if drafted on day 1...day 2 it would depend on what happens with Ferguson.

We won't draft a DE this year unless it's a stud drafted in the first two rounds...we have lots of depth here, even though no real stars...expect Ratliff to play DE and make an impact there this year.

Forget OLB unless we let Ellis walk or deal him...then we will need to draft a 3rd OLB who can rush the QB...draft or FA, the guy would make the team.

An ILB could make the team.

A CB would surely make the team unless he were a total bust.

I don't see us continuing to draft safeties as starters, but don't be surprised if we take a flier on a guy who plays special teams and who may be a SS type future starter.

We have a good team, but there are plenty of starting positions that can be upgraded and depth is needed almost everywhere besides DE, OLB, TE.

I never understood why Burnett wasout there over Carp who if nothing else is good in coverage.

As for NT......we interviewed Demario Pressley.....

Keep Fergy at NT and move Ratliff to LE.

Tank can back up the Nt spot. No need for anything else here.

Look at the good NT's in the league and they play to mid-late 30's(ie:Adams, Washington)
