Other Runningbacks that might be of interest in 08 Draft

Wolfe was drafted in the 4th (?) round this year by the Bears.

It would be a real coup to draft in him in this upcoming draft. Get 'er dun Jerry!

Yeah, Wolfe was drafted by Bears during 3rd round.

Slaton is very intriguing and he should be a Heisman candidate.

3rd round.... damn. Off a round.

Thanks...

Aside from being drafted this past year, Wolfe is to small to be an every down back IMO. He's very quick, has excellent balance and agility but he's just to small IMO. He would not stand up as a primary or even share the load type back IMO. Maybe change of pace. He's probably a special teams guy more then anything IMO but doesn't really matter. He's been drafted.

Is Slaton even big enough to be an every down back?
It appears that he can, at least at the college level. He weighs nearly 200 lbs so he isn't all that small.

In 2005, he averaged 22.7 carries per game with 2 games of 30+ carries.

In 2006, he averaged just over 19 carries per game, which includes two games of less than 10 carries.

I think Emmitt might only have been something like 207 lbs when he came into the league. I think Slaton will probably be close to that when he decides to come out. Slaton, to me, is a durable back. Some guys just have the kind of game that makes them hard to hit. He's like that, to me. Tought to get clean shots on him. Time will tell I suppose.

You tell us.

Tony Dorsett 5-11 190-ish

Barry Sanders 5-8 200-ish

Warrick Dunn 5-9 190-ish

Tiki Barber 5-10 205-ish

Brian Westbrook 5-8 200-ish

Steve Slaton 5-10 190-ish

He's only 21 and the school has him listed at 195. Even if that's 5 pounds heavy, he should have no problem getting to the 200 range in a couple offseasons. Even if he isn't a 20 carry back, he's got super talent and would team perfectly with MBIII.

BTW, rumor is Slaton is up around 205 now.

If he's 5'10"/215 next year, he'd be the absolute ideal size for a RB.

Really, 205 huh, that's great. Willie Parker is 5'10" and 210 and very fast. I can't wait for next April ;)
