Sorry if this sounds repetitive, but so much going on these last two days I wanted to post, so read if you want.

The Murray loss could hurt, but I think we can suitably replace him with our line. Money wasn't right to keep him.

Other than him; we lose Harris, Carter, Durant, Parnell, looking like Moore and Spencer too. None of these losses seem to be any big deal. I am pretty sure at some point in the season we would have loved to upgrade from these guys (even Harris in the return game; save for his kick coverage ability). We'll see on Moore and Spencer, but the money wasn't right on the others.

And while Keith Rivers is no huge signing, it is very similar to the signing of Durant a while back. He'll add depth at least.

It all remains to be seen, but I do like that we are not overpaying to keep JAG's (Note: I do not consider Murray a JAG)

Right now we have gone from a running team to a running team without a RB. Dallas could go out and draft a RB, who knows maybe we hit the 2nd coming of Tony Dorsett or Emmitt Smith but you are also just as likely to draft the next Troy Hambrick, J. Jones, Felix Jones or Marion Barber. I think this is a big loss when a team ran as much as the Cowboys did.

I agree. Take away Lynch from Seattle and see how that works out.

You mean besides the NFL's leading rusher, top 5 vote-getter in the MVP, and NFL Offensive Player of the Year?

Nope. We're good. We will be better from sheer will.

Exactly. Could they find another RB? maybe they could but it is risk just as losing Murray now is a risk. This teams success was in large part because of a power running game and now we have no clue as to who that back will be or how that back will do it now becomes an unknown. Believe me I hope we strike gold on the next RB but that is far from a sure thing.

We've lost depth on a defense that didn't have a lot of it to begin with. So that's going to hurt for sure.

I liked Murray but I think people are vastly over-rating him overall because he SURPRISE had a huge year during a contract season.

That's why I said other than Murray.

I don't like losing him (but understand given the money). I was mainly referring to some people worrying over us getting "picked apart" in free agency.

The difference is most believe Murray, while a good RB, has success as a result of a great run blocking OL. Lynch is regarded as a dominant runner on a team with an average at best OL. Much easier to replace Murray's production in Dallas than Lynch's production in Seattle.

with that said, you never know how things pan out. Dallas may strike gold in the draft or get a dud.

Ask yourself this. Are we a better team than last year?

Yes there's still time, but the probably with not flinching is sometimes the game is over when you finally decide to jump in.

What's it going to be then, eh?

We are hurt from a chemistry standpoint. The team came together so well, it is a shame to get picked apart.

But overall the losses are not devastating provided we are able to designate capable replacements in the draft. If we think the depth on this roster can cover losing Murray and even the backups we lost, that is wishful thinking.

We are a team that needs the running identity and needs a quality RB. If we try to turn back the clock to 2013, Romo will never make it.

They need to start getting active right now or the "not flinching" is actually paralysis.

I liked Murray before last year. When he got his ankle twisted against the Giants a couple of years ago our season went down the crapper as well. It wasnt just the one year IMO. Btw, I've still say OU wins the NC game had he played against FSU and i hate OU!

No, definitely worse at this point. But still time. I guess I mainly was somewhat relieved that we didn't overpay for the other guys like we've done in years past. Murray is the one that I could have understood paying for, but still can't blame them for not paying.

It's never easy to replace an 1,800 plus yard rusher, I don't care if you have a herd of bulls blocking for you.

I'm assuming there is a plan, but its a secret, because if the draft is the answer, I don't see it. I don't see using the first round draft pick to replace Murray. The majority of the draft picks need to be on defense. And even then, it rakes a while for rookies to make an impact. Devon Coleman, Ken Bishop and Ben Gardner are not the answer, IMO.

Everyone of those players we lost from the defense, played a large role in the 12-4 record, and now they're gone, and need to be replaced.

Can someone help me here? I am REALLY UPSET to see Murray leave -- especially to the EAGLES! I lived in Philadelphia for 20 years and grew to loathe those fans. I can't stand seeing a running back who gave so much in 2014 in that nasty green.

Is there something I'm missing here? Is he really so average that it's OK to let him go and pick up a rookie for 2015??:igglestrophy::huh:

They didn't lose anything that isn't replaceable.

They just have a lot of spots that need to be filled. I would rather not enter the draft with this many holes.

We don't need to replace 1800 yards of rushing. And this was never a running team. Provided that Romo stays healthy, we'll continue to have a well-balanced offense that doesn't require more than 1200 yards from its lead back. If we get more, that's fine, but it's not something we require in order for the offense to function quite well, thank you very much.
