OU/A&M, KSU/UT, Mizzou/TT game thread

I'll give up the safety to save a touchdown and run more clock.

we were in the NC game just last year, one bad season and you want to blow the whole thing up? sorry but one year can be an abomination, if it continues for a few years it would be a trend but we need a to wait and see if they can get back to where they should be next year.

i think your just frustrated because of the cowboys and their coaching woes as am i but lets be reasonable here.

If you think I'm not being reasonable, try visiting a Texas message board right now. Sorry, but there needs to be coaching changes. The offensive coordinator needs to go. He never was really any good. I like Muschamp. But this program is back to what it was before 2004. What OU had last year was a bad season. What Texas is having is an abortion. Colt McCoy and the defense saved Greg Davis last year and did so in 2008 as well. Not willing wait a few years either. Losing to Baylor and Iowa State AT HOME in back to back weeks is unacceptable.

Oklahoma...what are you doing? Bring back Mangino as OC :laugh2::laugh2:

I agree... Davis is awful...

I think Mac may retire before he dumps Davis... we would lose a great recruiter, but we would be better off overall...

Davis is AWFUL...

The Ags are going to DESTROY Texas this year...

I took a lot of heat earlier this year by announcing UT and OU as also-rans... from both sides...

I'm sure I'll get no apologies...

Now I have to wonder what the TAMU/OKST game would've looked like with Tannehill instead of Johnson. :bang2:

Johnson believed his own hype this year... and it did cost the Ags...

Throwing the ball 59 times against the 120th ranked run defense in the nation. Greg Davis must go.

Sounds like our OC.....and by the reasoning from some on this board, Greg Davis should be promoted to head coach instead of being fired!!

Bob Stoops is a shell of the coach he once was.

Really starting to wonder about him. He never has the team up for road games and Kevin Wilson going away from the running game so much is infuriating.

Sooners deserved to get their butts kicked.

Good solid defense by A&M. Kudos to them for that win.

A&M isn't any good. Probably the worst team OU's played this season. But they were much better prepared. Much better coached on both sides of the ball. OU's defensive schemes are so bad against the run. Maybe the worst in the Big 12. I think the game is passing these guys by. Last night Mike Sherman and staff put a clinic on Bob Stoops and staff. How many times do spread teams have to run for a ton of yards before you make some defensive changes? We just keep going with the same crap and giving up big run after big run.

OU runs a system and they are extremely stubborn within that system

The gameplans on both sides of the ball have never been very dynamic.

I actually think Landry Jones is a heck of a QB too but I think you guys should pick and choose when to crank up the pace.

But OU isn't really going to fool anybody. It's the same thing every week. It's just a question of whether you can stop it or not.

In the early 2000s they were real innovative especially on defense. They would mix man and zone. Helped that they had absolute freaks like Roy Williams and Tommie Harris, Derrick Strait and Brodney Pool but they mixed it up a lot. Now OU just goes straight zone and plays 4-2-5 defense. The only way they can stop the run game is if the defensive line plays perfect all game and the LBs never miss tackles. That doesn't happen unless you have a Gerald McCoy or Tommie Harris.

A&M has turned it around with Tannehill and DeRuyter and is a pretty solid team that will likely finish second in the South behind Okie Light (Or tied for first if OU beats them). OU was easily the best team left on our schedule (Baylor got exposed yesterday, Nebraska is bipolar and Texas just flat out sucks) and we won it pretty dominating fashion. The key was shutting down DeMarco Murray, which allowed Von Miller and company to tee off on Jones which kept OU from stretching the field much.
