Boiman injury update (don't read during lunch)

Someone on the Cowboys medical staff told me that one of the bones in linebacker Rocky Boiman's left hand was actually poking through the gloves he was wearing.

I hear that collective OUCH!

Boiman made the mistake of blocking a punt off the most powerful right leg in pro football: Mat McBriar's.

The daily Parcells news briefing begins in less than 45 minutes. Have to head that way now. See you back here about 12:30 p.m. Pacific time.

I think BP hopes that Boiman will be back in around 10 days and said he'll probably have to wear some protective equipment over his hand during pre-season. That's good news, if true. I guess it could have been worse.

In any case, he should be fine by the season opener.

After most injuries Parcells trots out some story about 'how Superman came back from that after a mere four days'. I think he pushes a little too hard on this. From a practical standpoint it is understandable. Not sure it is always the best strategic plan.
