yes you can

five carries for 8 yards and five carries for 2 yards is a pretty good example of an inconsistent running game that's still averaging 5 yards per carry

When has Murray rushed for 8 yards 5 times and 2 yards 5 others times in a game? You're my friend are bringing up Hypothetical football when I'm stating facts. I'll take 10 carries for 50 yards in your scenario because I know realistically we can't get 5 yards every carry like the stats say. It's still production and the offense can effectively use play action with those numbers while the clock is ticking and the defense sits!!

I was illustrating a point.

He was perfect in short yardage. Also made something from nothing on 2 big plays in the 4th qtr - bouncing off the pile at the line and picked up good yardage.

Having Dunbar be great tonight helped a ton.

Go look at his numbers when he has had less than 15 carries. Why didn't he get 20? Not all of those games warranted all of those passes when the run WAS PRODUCING!

Or maybe they carry 20+ times a game when they produce

I got that but too many times people paint pictures that are false. Yes Murray has had runs of 2 yards or less, but he always seems to get those 8 grind em out yarders that folk say he doesn't get. Then he might bust one for 20 plus. Why aren't those 10-15 plusers taken into consideration as productive? Or even the 4-8 yarders that he obviously gets to balance out those poor efforts?

Again my premise has always been, even with the poor runs the clock is running and the defense stays fresh. Plus it avoids those Romo plays that always rear their ugly head. Running more has a benefit in more than one aspect of the game.
