Our buddy skinshokie

DC is so obsessed with us that they are actually numb. I can still hear Joe Theisman say on the radion "Romo is nothing special and Jason Campbell is as good as him". Or in the barber shop the other day...Roy Helu is just as good as DeMarco Murray.

I will tell you one of the reasons WHY this goes on. We rarely beat this team as bad as we are supposed to. The irony is, they are so dreadful and mean so little to us, we do not get up for them nearly as much as they get up for us. Actually, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for us to match the intensity they bring when they play us. It generally is at a Super Bowl level. So we play them...the games are close...and leads them to delusions that they are right on par with us because they lost a close game to us. If we would just come to DC...beat them by 25+ points....and have Jon Kitna finish the game taking a knee for the final series. It would alleviate some of this nonsense until next year. Because there are actually Skins fans that have rationalized HOW they could win Sunday. Of course ANYTHING can happen...but there is not one RATIONAL reason for anyone to pick the Skins this weekend. So their nonsense will always exist, but I would love to sweep them (its been a while) and get back to beating them 10 straight times like we used to.

Reduced to taking shots at the Cowboys as a way to cover what he's actually doing - rooting for and already excusing a loss.

Oh no! A win could put the 'Shanahan era in jeopardy'? Is that Mike Shanhan's master plan? Lose as many games as he can for fear of putting his era in jeopardy?

If that's an era they want any part of, more power to 'em. The better for us and the rest of the division.

Nobody has to 'get up' for the Cowboys/Skins if they don't want to. They can already concede defeat if they want to. We'll take the W and move on in a season that still means something and they can preserve the glorious 'Shanahan era'.

:lmao2:

I had a co-worker come up to me and say with much excitement "Its Dallas Week" I replied "only to you, to me its just another divsion game".

skinshokies fan is a complete tool....says one thing here and then another there. We don't matter?? Seems that we are on the way up, while they still suck failure..... :laugh2:

Any questions?

The skins are not relevant and looking at that team and how it's run they probably never will be again. For them it's Dallas week for us it's as close as you can get to a bye week in the NFL on a week you actually have to play.

They're the new Browns, the biggest joke in the NFL

Of course we matter. If they somehow won this game, it would be their Super Bowl and no matter how many tons of force they use to pull the wool over their eyes, they know it to be true.

They really want for us to not matter, but they're lying to themselves and everyone around them if they say we don't.

We're a game out of first place in the division and in control of our own destiny to the playoffs.

They're on a five game losing streak and once again looking at next year's draft before supermarkets have started laying in stocks of turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Our team put up 44 points against an AFC team that held Washington scoreless three weeks ago. Washington put up 40 points in their last four games combined.

We put up 21 points this past Sunday in under 18 minutes of football. They've scored 20 points in their last three games combined.

Washington hasn't put up 21 points or more since week 2. Their offense has scored three touchdowns once this season.

SHF saying Dallas doesn't matter is an indictment of how putrid their team is and how low their expectations are for their team. Nothing more.

Keep telling yourself that in case you lose.

I'm sure if they won it will be like 'WE BEAT DALLAS!!!!''

Most everyone who posts over on that forum are morons. None more than that jacktard group they call a staff. Most all of the really old posters who were knowledgeable and respectful have left because of how that place is run. It is a real indictment of the quality of character over there. Most all who post there now are zit-faced drunkards or idiots who believe that pro wrestling is real. Case in point -- stop by the FedEx ES Tailgate on game-day. It is hilarious.

Oh you have got to be kidding me. We don't matter any more?

What team last year had parades and productions planned for Dallas week? What team is mired in the NFC East cellar for 5 of the last 8 seasons and staring at 6 of 9 including 4 in a row?

I agree with the one fan who says "We Want Dallas" is now a compliment to us. I wish he realized it always was.

Another said it isn't the same rivalry it used to be. No it isn't, because we have beaten that team more than any other team in our History. Their winning % against us is lower than any other NFC team. The absolute worst.

Their team is the one that is not relevant. We're on a playoff course and they know it. We're very close to being solid contenders and they know it. They also know that their own team blows chunks and this is about a dream that they cannot even realize.

Sunday we should all watch the game with our brooms because there is a sweep coming.

Why does SkinsHokieFan have over 1500 posts on this Cowboys message board alone if we're just another team?

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

His post was essentially a defense mechanism.

The truth is the following:

If they win, he will be happy just like a fan of any other team when their team wins, but externally he'll still be saying "does it really matter?" We suck. They suck, but at least we beat them.

If they lose, he will be sad just like a fan of any other team when their team loses, and externally he'll still be saying the same thing "does it really matter?" We suck. They suck.

Wow you just completely owned them.

Been watching and rooting for the Boys’ since 1960. Of that time, the last 15 years have left me longing for the ‘old days’ when our Heroes competed virtually every year for a championship.

It’s easy to remember the days of Staubach and Aikman. But, even with Meredith, Morton and White – they were perennial winners.

Toward the end of the Landry era, they appeared rudderless for the first time with guys like Hogeboom leading the charge.

Then comes Jones. He brings in Jimmy, gives him time and listens to him. The Boys’ turn around and that ‘justifies’ the actions of terminating Landry. A new era starts.

Then, in Jones pride and arrogance – he dismisses Jimmy and says ‘any of 500 coaches could lead this team to the Super Bowl’. In his vanity, he swears to the Lord himself, to give him just 1 more Super Bowl against the Steelers.

15 years later, our Heroes have floundered and lost their way. It has been a desert experience. Who fears a wandering tribe?

Under Garrett, they seem to be regaining their footing. But, just as with Jimmy, that will probably take some time and some humility from Jones to listen again.

Of course, the Commander fans rue the day that our Heroes are back and strong again. But, for the past 15 years, the fact of the matter is that our Heroes have been mired in mediocrity.

The Lord is eternal. But, he is full of grace.

Extremeskins is filled with a bunch of losers with loser mentalities. I thought SkinsHokieFan was a true diehard fan. I'm a little shocked to see him coming up with excuses to root for a loss in the one game that fan base should want to win come hell or high water.

Let's not forget that we were in the same boat not so long ago with a team that started out 1-7. Heading into 2010 week 11, the Cowboys were 2-7, a game *worse* than the Commanders currently are. There was perhaps a little more hope because of the coaching change and the fact that we were coming off a win against the Giants, but most of us were resigned to the fact that we weren't going to make the playoffs. The following thread was posted:

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199808

Just look at that thread. We're talking about a team that had lost its starting QB, was facing a brutal 6 game stretch including games against the Colts, Saints, and Eagles twice. A lot of fans had given up on the secondary. Were we rooting for the team to lose so we could get Patrick Peterson? No. Almost unanimously, we were rooting for the team to win out, even though the OP stated that we would miss the playoffs in that hypothetical.

Dallas fans get a bad rap for being bandwagon fans, but what is a bandwagon fan if not someone who starts rooting for his team to lose *before Thanksgiving* because things aren't going so well? If you ever needed any proof that their pathetic excuse for a fan base need only look in the mirror to identify a bandwagon fan, now you've got it in black and white.

Should be a solid beatdown. The skins have no QB, no real RB, no WRs to speak of since Moss broke his hand. They'll be fortunate to score 10 points this weekend, and that's pushing it. I'm serious.
