Much more worried about the interior of both lines. I’m afraid this season might turn really bad, really quickly.

Sons of the pigiron, it is clear as day that our season will be determined by the health and cutting power of ... Zeke Elliott.
As goes Zeke, so goes the team.
It is simple as Kyler's study regimen and tha is if Zeke falters, our passing game becomes more forced. With a receivers corps that is in flux, tha reliance on a forced air ball can't help. Good chaps all.
Beyond tha, me fey fellows, it is true about the importance of a balanced running/passing game.

Zeke, like it or not, old fellows, more than anyone else who wears tha star, will determine our success or not.

...I hear what your saying. I concur with Zeke notion. But missing link is OL. IF they cant block, he has no where to go.

Our season doesn't hinge on one person or one element.

We try to blame the Niners loss on one person or one unit. It's not.
The fear I saw in the eyes of the Cowboys before the game I place directly at the coach's feet. Your job is to get your team ready.
The offense stalled and couldn't sustain drives. That's on Kellen Moore. The 49ers knew what we were doing and stopped it.
Dak doesn't have time to throw the ball. That's on the offensive line.
Dak wouldn't take advantage of single coverage on Cee Dee Lamb. That's on Dak.
The defense gave up gapping holes in the middle. That's the defensive line.
Micah Parsons was barely used as a pass rusher. That's on Dan Quinn.
The defense had the opportunity to get the ball back but for stupid penalties. That's on the players, particularly Randy Gregory who was fighting with an offensive lineman.
Then our last play of the game where our quarterback runs for a first down with no time outs and seconds to play. That's on Kellen Moore.

We have a lot of areas to fix on this team. And if we don't recognize this, we're doomed to failure then singling out one person as if that one person can fix everything wrong with this team.

Just like Emmitt...Sadly....I just don't see Zeke having the longevity...he's more Earl Campbell...and been wearing down for years now. If Cowboys were smart...it's RB by committee this year...and we need more bodies. Make Zeke your short yardage banger...TD goaline vulture. Pollard might be your go to this year...and find a 3rd down scat back.

I get your point to an extent. But.....He must read defenses and be a option threat.
Likely done presnap. Unless Dak is running the run option of flipping it to Elliot or keeping it and running it himself. I miss those plays. But we don’t need him to get hurt.

Run or pass option. Certainly we have the ability to audible in or out of either run or pass?
I don't want him hurt either....but if a safe five or so is open....dak needs to take it. At least until the defense uses a man to stop it.

What you said. If he can take it himself off tackle and not be touched for 4 or 5 yards and slide down then do it. This is the first year or so. Now they don’t want him touched because he is big time. What made him big time is that play. Strange how that happens..

I disagree. Its the Oline that will determine how well we do. Zeke is nothing without a great line. He has little control over what happens. Simply not good enough.

Yup. Our DT. Because if we can't stop the run, nothing else matters. Lucky we spent that high 5th rounder on the position!!!!

I would say the rookie offensive lineman Smith is the key. If he plays well and solidifies the offensive line then both Dak and Zeke will be better.

On the plus side for Zeke, run blocking usually comes to young guys before pass blocking. That's a pretty stout left side now.

So basically what you're saying is we're pretty much vsf'd. ;)

A horrible season might be good long term.

Get a nice pick and hopefully Sean Payton.

Our upside is a season like last year and we’ll have to do it with a worse roster but luckily our division is trash.

It is a bit early to talk tanking, but I agree our roster, as a whole, is worse. But I disagree our division is trash. Anemic, maybe, but the Egirls are rebuilding with smarter people tha Jerrphen and TWT is reloading.

Me idea of a horrible season is not 5-12 but 9-8 when we, again, show up at the draft with a No. 15. By tha time the studs are gone and that leaves Jerry to use his Spidey senses to draft thugs with behavioral problems but, it is hoped, with some skills.
