Another fine job by Newman/Reeves.

This is really starting to be something now.

Newman had the INT/TD and Reeves had a really nice PD in the endzone.

They are going to wear reeves out next week. I hope he is up to it. A big play by him early in the game could really be a big lift.

Henry started today, actually. The starting secondary formation consisted of Newman, Henry and Reeves.

Roy didn't "start" though. . .

Who is the Qb for the Jets? Who are their top two wide recievers? Dont get me wrong our corners did OK today but I was at the game and there were quiet a few instances where the recievers were open and not seen after beating poor coverage, or simply overthrown in the wide open field after beating coverage. I don't mean to complain becuase they did do a good job but against a team like GB, Detriot, Patriots, etc. they get burned today...still lots, LOTS of room for improvement.

Roy did start WP just kept his *** out of deep coverage and put him near the Line of Scrimmage

O, I must have been seeing things then. I was at Texas Stadium and I didn't see Roy starting. He came in during the first series, but he didn't start the first play if that's what "start" means to you.

No, Roy Williams DID NOT start, it broke his streak of starting 91 consecutive games.

I highly disagree with you. Reeves had a good game and our secondary's play is why we kept this team out of the end zone all game. Constant pressure resulted in sacks because of blanket coverage.

Were you there? yeah the covered a lot of the time but there were critical times when their receivers were running open and just missed. it was a dramatic improvement over last week and I can see them doing better as the weeks progress, all I am saying is that they are not there yet, against a good QB, today would have been a shoot out, not a 3 point near shutout.

He did miss a number of wr today. Henry was beat pretty soundly twice and the throws were awful.

Each week is a different thing though, I dont really put any stock in this game having anything to do with how we play against the packers. The team will be fired up and focused.

Yeah,

I don't know what you were seeing, but I was seeing a team that was getting pressure on the QB nearly every play.

Sure, after 4 seconds the receievers got open... but didn't you look over to see that by that time our d-line had destroyed their intentions of getting accross the 50 yard line for the entire first half?

Did you forget your binoculars or somethin'?

If you didn't see the drooped balls and the beat coverage I don't know what to tell you, it was there 10 times I can remember specificaly...sure they were getting good pressure on lots of plays and the coverage was decent but...ah whatever you wouldn't get it anyway...just don't be surprised next week if the corners don't cover like they appeared to today.

Defense all around was solid

The pressure was great today i really liked seeing them destroy the opposing teams O-Line

We even had 2 coverage sacks today encouraging game the defense played today..

i liked how Roy Williams was used in todays game another positive thing

The only thing im worried about is the inconsistency all season with the pass rush. some games we will get after the QB and in others only Ware would get after the QB if we dominate the packers O-Line i like our chances

Yea, Roy didn’t start. Mickey said it in his Mick Shots. It’s a package that takes out Roy and Akin and adds Burnett and Henry. Interesting. I am curious to how many plays we ran this defense and how it did overall.

I think what he is trying to say is the reason why those wide open WRs were either missed or overthrown was because of the pressure. That is what the pass rush is for. If there were no pass rush, then ANY NFL caliber QB could sit back in the pocket and pick apart any pass defense...I don't care who is back there. There will be times were WR's get open. People need to accept that. Our WR's get open and so does other teams WR's. The pass rush and the coverage units did their jobs today to prevent the pass attach from taking advantage.
