Our current backup QBs

Here's the problem.

Backup quarterbacks typically make $1 million a year. Sometimes a lot more than that.

When your starter makes late 4th-round money, that creates an awkward situation to sign somebody.

You can't sign Bridgewater unless you're going to let him compete for the starting job.

If we were to sign Bridgewater, I say great... Let them compete... Don't get me wrong.. I love me some Dak but competing will keep everyone on their toes....

We will be seeing a lot of Rush these last 2 games. Looks like Dak and Elliot aren’t playing till opening day. Probly the same with O-Line.

I do you one better , why don't we pick up a better starting bus driver who doesn't glitch out with pressure.. Heck did Tebow get scared in the pocket... he drives and throws as bad as Dak.
Tebow? His passing was on par w/ a girl scout. I mean he was beyond terrible. Dak makes Tebow look like a 3rd grader.

Give me RG3 all day... the way that he was able to elude everyone and dominate JerryWorld back on Thanksgiving of 2012, such a virtuoso.

And... he stands for the flag and is a big America supporter. Something Jerry loves.

no way they got Tebow a qb quru like panic boy and he was the best ever. you can't fix fear of being hit. aka the glitch... not sure why the glitch expert who use to tout that crap all the time hasn't chimed in a threw his 2 cents of glitch knowledge.

Tebow didn't have the glitch and was a winner.... oh yeah who has a playoff victory.. that's all that counts.

Okay, so, overall, I'm impressed by our starters that played today, particularly our starting secondary and linebackers. In fact, overall, our first half team was rather impressive. With that being said, I hope to God that Dak doesn't get hurt. I'm aware that Rush and White had the misfortune of having Green in who manages to make a lot of QBs look pathetic. However, White's footwork was dreadful, and Rush is not looking on point. I'm thinking it may be time to look into getting a veteran QB. The names I shall list are ones that you've probably seen me mention before on another thread, but I think they need to be reiterated as I think they could be solutions. So, without further adieu, let's begin:

Firstly, Kellen Clemens has been a serviceable backup QB for ages. He's currently available (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kellen_Clemens), and I think that he'd be a wise move. Not saying he's a great QB, but I think he'd be better than what we currently have.

Then, my second choice would be Matt Moore. He's also currently available (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Moore_(American_football), and, like Clemens, I think he'd be a wise signing. Unlike Clemens, he's actually got some familiarity with our system as our current HC was his OC in 2007 during the preseason. So, he's got some knowledge of Garrett's offence. Additionally, he was very much a key factor for the Dolphins.

So, these would be my choices for who I think would be better than what we've currently got as our backup QBs. Hopefully, we never have anything go wrong with Dak, but we've GOT to have better insurance for him than what we've got.

Kellen Clemens stinks. He is no better than the trash we have

some of what you saw was backups (mostly) playing against starters. that tells you about NFL starting level quality of players. Rush had a bad night. White is not ready. but he defintley has a higher upside than Rush, who at best will be a career back up.

I am not high on either of those guys you listed, but lets wait and see where the Jets will go and what will AZ and Ravens do. they both will try to dump a 3rd QB and may trade a 7th rounder or outright cut them.

In my opinion, Dak has a good arm, can escape the pocket, and just has game awareness and a knack for producing in the games. It's not necessarily cute or glamorous, but he manages to get the job done.

Rush, his arm strength is alarming. Seems like he'd rather be cautious than go at teams, and his cautiousness cost him a pick six last night. Of all people, he decides to go after PETERSON with a floating out-route pass. SMH... His inability to escape the pocket is also alarming. We don't need him to escape and run like Dak, but emulate what Brady does. He finds an open part of the protection and moves there, scoots here out of harms way. Same as Rodgers and a few others. You don't have to scramble all of the time, just move away from danger, and Rush is terrible at that based on what I've seen. Also, him missing a wide open Beasley is inexcusable. You've got to hit that, and stop throwing it into triple coverage in the end zone. All in all, I'm not sold on him, I think he needs to be pushed behind White at this point which is off the team.

White: I think he has a live arm but even worse at moving around the pocket to avoid trouble, and his decision making is suspect. But that's to be expected as a rookie, I'd PS him. He could end up a nice back up, and possibly more in the future, who knows?

Yes, and he at least has some knowledge, though from a long time ago, of Garrett's offence, so that might be the best choice available.
I'm guessing you're from England. Nice... I like your train of thought on the QB situation.
