Or appears run defense is the priority for the first time in a long time.

Kneeland and EZ are our future at the position, so it's good that they both showed some good things. Kneeland played like you'd hope a second-year player would play. EZ played like you expect a talented rookie in his first game to play.

We'll see where it goes from here. I think what Williams and Fowler did reflect who they are as players at this point in their careers. Kneeland and EZ need to step up and take the lead and Fowler and Williams need to be the support that we replace over the next few years.

Then, there's James Houston, who may be able to push ahead of Fowler or Williams at some point.

More Kneeland and more EZ please.

The more they play the better they will get, and they attempt to set the edge.

On tape Kneeland is the one who really popped out to me. He wont have the pass rush upside as the others due to limited agility, but he looked like a man among boys at times Thursday night.

Kneeland remind me a lot of what Demarcus Lawrence brought. A nice good run stopping presence. But a little more athletically gifted than Lawrence.

EZ surprised me in the run stopping department. I thought he would start off being better rushing the passer than stopping the run.

There was 8 men in the box. They tried to mirror (and did successfully) what KC did in the Super Bowl. Instead of taking deep shots in one on one coverage Hurts choose to run. Everything underneath and intermediate was there for the taking.

Not a bad showing for the Cowboys def with a new coordinator and some returning players and new pieces.
