Our defense consistently makes it a long field

Everyone missed the OP's point. The defense is hurting the offense by never giving it a short field. Although I seem to remember the offense starting out drives around the 50 last week and doing squat with it.

Look at how much the offense has helped the defense. People want to point to some turnovers but they are missing the big picture.

The offense sure sucked Sunday but before that we were #1 in the league in avoiding 3 and outs, and the offense is 4th in total yards. That means our offense is perpetually flipping the field even when they don't score.

Maybe the offense starting field position sucked, because we couldn't return punts and kicks, until Patrick Crayton finally grew some...

I was curious as to how many 3rd down conversions were allowed with 10 or more yards to go.The Tampa and Denver games were the only games that did not have a conversion on 3rd. down with more than 10 yards to go.I did notice that this defense has allowed an offense to convert another 1st. after having them backed up on 1st. or 2nd. and long as well.It is possible I missed a few as well and I didn't include any 3rd. down and less than 10 that were converted due to a penalty.
