Our defense in the 5 playoff losses in last decade

Brax, it’s both offense and defense. As someone said in another post the Cowboys have not been one of the best 4 teams in the league as has been proven many times over the last decade.

I did the same research on the offense and as I said there Dak and the offense bear responsibility too. What stood in my research about the offense is Dak was terrible the last two playoff games he played (48-32 L to GB and 19-12 L to SF) where he threw 4 of the 6 INTs he’s had in the 5 losses. His first two playoff losses (34-31 to GB and 30-22 to rams) he had 4 TDs and 1 INT. He has seemingly gotten worse as he aged.
Isn't there a stat site that rates how bad an INT was?

A good ball thrown where it needed to be, but a better defensive play was made....doesn't seem like a QB should get held accountable for that turnover.

Wrong route by receiver is another issue that isn't the QBs fault.

INTs need ro be further dissected if being used to criticize a QB.

Yes.. if only that were the case in the Cowboys' losses. Speaking in (mindless) absolutes avails us nothing. In our last two playoff losses simply has not played well enough. Period. However in the first 49ers loss and the loss to the Rams he DID play decent. Not all time great but good enough to win if the defense had done THEIR job throughout the game. But hell no.. When the team loses I am hesitant to leave ANYBODY off the criticism list. But I am equally unwilling to put it all on one player. The game simply is not played that way. Dak could play better. That's a given. So could a lot of others. Hopefully the players understand that and aren't sitting around mad cause Dak or Micah or anybody else didn't bail them out at crucial points of a game. They all need to look in the mirror.
What???

The defense was definitely better than Dak in 49ers loss number 1.

Not defending Dak here but man, the defense was terrible in that first 49ers game.

Dak wasn’t good either but the D gave up 169 yards rushing, had 5 penalties for lining up offsides; two of them resulted in first downs, allowed the niners to have a huge TOP advantage because we couldn’t stop their run game and we had zero sacks. And it was 7-0 before the offense even had their first possession.

Just these 3 stats are mind blowing!

Giving up 31 ppg, 157 yds rushing and allowing 52% 3rd down conversion rate! You can’t beat anybody with that kind of defense!
BULLETT!!!
When your 1st round draft choices are Mazi and Taco outside Micah, I can see that.

If dak was a killer, the niners would never get a shot.

Oh by god they scored first. Well...let's let dak be dak and give up.

And held them below their average points and yards per game. And, held them below their average yards per play.

They were not great, but they kept the score down. TOP is so overrated. Number of plays is far more important.

7-0 isn't much either. That didn't cause the offense to get -3 yards over the first two possessions and to score only once in their first 7 possessions.

Not great, but adequate. Dak was awful that game, not as bad as the 2nd 9ers game, but he was bad.

Niners by far had a better team.

11 guys was + rotational players is better than 1. I would hope so. It is a team sport.
It is a team sport.

I was comparing a entire defense doing the job of an entire defense to a QB doing the job of a QB.

It's a legit comparison...especially considering the thread, and the specific post I replied to.

I was not being unfair to Dak.

Just curious what team had the better:

Defense?
OLine?
RB's?
WR's?
SF had a better defense.
Dallas easily had the better RBs
SF had a slight edge in WR//TE as CD was just in year 2, and Deebo had a great year.
OL was pretty even.

Dallas' defense performed better than their average and held SF's offense below their average performance level.
Dallas' offense performed well below it's average performance on the year. And Dak, as an individual, had a pretty bad game.

Sounds like advantage SF to me.
