Our defensive line is such a weakness

Right?

I pity the fool who thinks any 4 man line with Ware in it is a weakness. I double pity the double fool who thinks a line of Ware, Hatch, Rat and Spencer is a weakness.

2 things I was thinking while watching the game:

1. Jerry Jones is right! I mean how good would this line be if we hadn't had all these injuries

2. We still need more constant pressure from the LDE spot. We need Spencer to get healthy and we really could use a luxurious Rat for the home stretch.

I think Spencer is done

Good thing we hit on Selvie and hayden
Hayden looks like a pretty good player, albeit not a big pass rushing threat.

Loved the tackle he had - I think it was on a bubble screen - where he chased the guy down about 9 yards down the field. That kind of effort has been sorely lacking over the last few years.

One thing I dont like, is that it seems like Ware gets subbed out too often. I dont know exactly how they do their rotation or whatever, but he should be on the field for every single time the other team has third and 5+. Too many times he was on the bench for those plays, imo.

It's a long season bro. Let that guy pace himself. He's 31 years old!

I guess JJ wasn't blowin' smoke when he said he views the D-Line as a strength and not a weakness.

The pass rush was never questioned, it was stoppig the run. The jury is still out until we face a team commited to running with a good or elite running back. KC last weak didn't run until late in the game.

I dont disagree that he needs to get a blow every now and then, I think its a good thing. I just question when it happens at times. Id rather have him in on third and eight than on 1st and 10...

Rat and spencer haven't played, and don't even think we need them... The way the Dline is playing, maybe we should get used to moving on without them, they are out best unit without those guys and don't expect either to here that much longer

I hope they can bring along rayford. he seems like he has the tools to also be a successful pass rusher in this scheme!

Don't kid yourself into thinking we can't use some more help. I agree Hayden and Hatch should start at the 1 and 3 even when Rat gets back but Rat is a better pass rusher than Hayden can ever hope to be.

Ratliff was a better passrusher, but we have no idea how healthy he is going to be. He might be a shell of his former self with this latest injury.

Rayford could be a real find and the guy to come in a be a super sub type pass rusher.

Appears more and more likely that Spencer not going to play much this year, seems like surgery is in his future.

Between Ware, Selvie, Crawford, Rayford, Wilber, and Jones, I'm feeling pretty good about our DE situation next season. Ideally, I'd like to extend Hatcher for a couple of years and spend a high pick or sign a high-end free agent 3-tech.
