System, options and versatility.
Bryant gives us an option to replace Williams next year if he doesn't improve on his drops. He gives us the option to attack in the passing game more than before. Plus he is an immediate upgrade as punt returner.
Lee fits Wade's system to a T. He gives us depth, worst case is he replaces Brooking. Best case is Jason Williams does that next year and after a year under coach J, Lee gains about 10-15 pounds and he takes over for James.
Owusu-Ansah follows in the path of Ball. Our system wants our nickel and dime players to cover like corners and hit like safeties. He will likely challenge for kickoff returns and gives us tons of options on starting safety down the line.
Young again can be a RT and perhaps get reps at guard.
Wall again fits the corner/safety hybrid we seem to love. Looks like a possible terror on coverage teams.
Lissemore is Ratliff part two. He can likely play DE or move inside to pass rush.
Clearly we can see that Dallas views their OL higher than we fans do. The talk was they wanted to keep Bright on the 53 last year but two kickers prevented it. For as much as we all hate Procter the team loves him and apparently trust him to back-up Gurode. Brewster will be needed as a swing tackle. In any case Dallas wants guys that can play more than one spot.
On defense we want athletes that can tackle, that is clear. The draft increased our ability to do that and with last years redshirt class coming into play, roster spots will be a battle royal. And the bottom of the roster will be expected to contribute much more than in the past.
The Cowboys drafted well, they got players that give them depth, can make an impact this year and will keep our team strong in the future.
