If we had to draft a kicker, I'd go with UCLA's Kai Forbath. Best kicker in college.

We need a kicker no doubt but there is no way that's our #1 draft need.

A young stud LT IMO is our #1 need

Kickers win game, Romo can evade pressure, Kicker is our #1 need.

but useless to use the first round pick on it.

speed/quickness combo at WR and OL. We should've drafted Mike Wallace last year when we had plenty of chances. If Dez is available, we have to take him, too dynamic. I'm not saying this is my opinion but I really think the coaches like Ken Hamlin. I know he's not making a lot of plays but we're also not getting beat deep. I'd argue we need another CB before a FS. We also have Mike Hamlin coming back and I think he might be decent. A OL will help for our post-Flo transition and we need that but imagine if we trot out a Desean Jackson type at WR. Defenses couldn't stop us. Double that guy and we'll let Miles, Witten, and Jones eat them up. Any WR that we could get that would require double coverage would open up this offense like you wouldn't believe. If Terry Glenn hadn't fallen apart and was still playing near his peak, I'm not sure anyone could beat us.

1.-A frachise left tackle,Flozell is just too old and slow
2-A true nose tackle to free up ratliff and let ware and spencer do their thing.
3-A fast cover if neede inside linebacker ours are good but slow.
A shut down corner who can actually intercept and tackle,Newman should be gone.
4- A true quarteback of the secondary Mike Hamlin is a joke, never intercepts or knocks down passes and has tackling issues as in the Baltimor game last year.
5.-Some offensive interior line help ours are big but getting up there in age
6.-A kicker in the 7th round to replace Folk
7.-A wider receiver as never enough quality,Austin,Olgetree,Crayton,Hurd, are really quality receivers get rid of Roy Williams the drive killer, unbelivable, what we paid for hime and the draft choices we gave up.

Miles is the one that would be getting double coverage, leader of the NFC in yards and TD plus with 5 less starts usually starts over and gets more coverage than a rookie :lmao2:

My priorities:

1. Inside linebacker to start no later than 2011.
2. Ball hawk safety.
3. True return guy - in shape of a wide receiver.
4. CB depth.
5. G/C to compete for starting job in a year.
6. DE to compete for starting job, if Spears not resigned.

If I had a 7th pick, I might go with a RB in the middle rounds and cut Barber - Choice, Felix + cheaper draft pick would be enough.

Also cut RW. More playing time to Crayton, Ogletree and Hurd + draft pick.

Hand Austin the money he's worth.

Both lines in rounds 1-7.

I wish we had traded Bennett for that first round pick. I would love to package and move up for Suh and move him the DE in our 3-4. Imagine Ware-Suh-Ratliff coming at you side by side.

Kicker, whats out there?

Sadly, it looks like a really weak year for kickers... others have mentioned UCLA's Kai Forbath, who is a junior but is reportedly thinking about declaring... he had a nice season this year, going 26 of 29 on FGs, but I have a concern about him-- he hit 23 of 23 inside of 40, only 3 of 6 from longer... all 3 misses were from 40 plus, but I wonder if he has the long-range leg you need in the NFL...

Of the seniors, the top 2 appear to be Leigh Tiffin from Alabama and Aaron Pettrey from Ohio State... Tiffin seems to be a 5th or 6th round prospect, who has range out past 50 yards... however, he is only 82 of 109 for his career, 75.2 per cent... he was some better this year, going 29 of 33... he's also just 132 of 137 on PATs, which is a lot of misses... Pettrey seems to also have long-range, 50 yard plus potential, having hit 4 of 6 from that distance in the last 2 years, with a long of 54... but like Tiffin, he's not the most accurate field goal kicker around, having hit just 28 of 38 attempts the last 3 years, 73.7 per cent... he's also just 84 of 88 on PATs... he looks like a 6th or 7th round prospect right now...

The kicker I like most (and yes, I'm a Horns fan) is Hunter Lawrence from Texas... over the last 2 seasons, he has hit 32 of 37 field goals, 86.5 per cent... he's also 120 of 121 on PATs, his one miss a block... the question I have with him is his ability from long distance; his long is 49 yards, and he's only been asked to attempt one from 50 plus, which he missed... he is 13 of 15 from 40 to 49, though...

In short, he's very accurate inside of 50, but I just don't know about his long-range kicking... he has hit some clutch kicks, though, including that 46 yarder as time ran out to put the Horns in the BCS game... so even if he's not reliable from long range, I'd draft him in the 7th, or sign him as a priority free agent if he goes undrafted, and let Buehler handle the kickoffs and the really long field goals, then let Lawrence handle everything else...

And if Buehler were to get hurt, Hunter could do you a credible job on kickoffs too... in the last 2 years, 31 of his 133 kickoffs have gone for touchbacks, this in the Big XII Conference where strong winds are often a factor... he's no Buehler, but in a pinch he can do a nice job for you...

So if you're looking for an accurate kicker in this draft, think Hunter Lawrence...

And on a side note, I'm very sad about the release of Folk, though I accept that it was necessary... he's been very bad this year, but I can't forget the guy who nailed back to back 52 yarders against the Bills...

I don't know what caused the deep slump he got into this year, if it was injury related or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it back together and goes on to do a good job for some NFL team in the future...

Yesterday Jerry said it was related to his offseason surgery.

Hopefully we can get Folk back for camp and have him a Suisham battle it out in camp.

I was thinking Hunter Lawrence aswell, his reliability within the 50 yard line is outstanding, and have Buehler work on anything 50+ yards

I don't see any other kickers in this draft with career field goal percentages in the 80-85 per cent range... this is a really dreadful year for kickers...

That makes perfect sense, it's hard to reconcile the steel-nerved kicker we knew as Nick Folk with this year's version...

Yeah, I hope that Jerry told Nick to get healthy, and they'll be in touch again in the offseason...
