Given that we will almost definitely be looking for a Wade-replacement next year, I took a look at the coaches who could conceivably be on the hot seat next year. These would be the teams we would conceivably be competing with for Shanny, Cowher, Homgren and Gruden (among others of course).

Brad Childress.......................Vikings
Jack Del Rio .........................Jaguars
Dick Jauron ..........................Bills
Marvin Lewis ........................Bengals
Lovie Smith ..........................Bears
Norv Turner .........................Chargers
Jim Zorn ..............................Commanders
Andy Reid ............................Eagles

Of course, some of these will not come to pass. It is idiotic to think that the Eagles would get rid of Reid. But I would not put it past them. As well, Jim Zorn may get another season even if the 'Skins stink. Childress also has had decent success without a QB to speak of, but time will tell.

Yeah because Jerry has obviously failed to do his main job as GM and that is to bring in talented players.

We have more talent than 95% of the league. Maybe we need to stop giving the players a free pass, as THEY'RE the ones who actually, you know...play football.

Valid point.

So once the prime talent is gone, then Jerry Jones can feel validated in installing Garrett regardless of how he performs this year.

If there is one coach I'd take, and not be upset if we lost Wade, it would be Andy Reid...

I sorta agree but, Even if you have the best ingredients there are ,you still need a decent chef to make a gourmet meal.

JJ has to hire a chef.

The only things I disagree with JJ on, are his publicity actions. They are out of line and lead to the distraction of this team.

But as far as football decisions and ways to improve a team. He has done a great job IMO.

So....if we have as many as 8 co-suitors for these high profile coaches...how would this job rate? I am most interested in Cowher and Shanahan. I dont think the Jags, Bills, Bengals and Commanders are all that great of jobs. A step above them would be an aging Eagles team and a chronically underacheiving Chargers team with a GM that has been problematic. I would list the desireablility of the prospective openings as:

Top Tier..............Cowboys
2nd Tier..............Vikings and Chargers
3rd Tier............... Commanders and Eagles
4th Tier............... Bears, Bills, Jags and Bengals (in that order)

Obviously, this is seen through blue and silver glasses. I could probably be convinced to combine tier 2 and 3. There is not a lot of separation. My thinking is that the 'Skins and Eagles have aging infrastructures and a manic fanbase.

YMMV

I think the Commanders and Eagles would be viewed as highly desirable.

Good post. I think the Skins job is desirable (yuck). I'd hate to follow Reid in Philly. Tough act to follow.

Definitely the Skins job. High pay and a very visible job. Eagles down a little but a better owner. Cheaper I think but better.

i say, Dan Reeves . . . . Just kidding!

It appears that Jerra, by keeping the Clown Wade Phillips, has delayed the Cowboys appearance in the Super Bowl. But if too much time goes by, the Cowboys' chances at supreemacy are gone.

Jerra made a mind-numbing decision to keep Wade another year. That is good news for the laid-back players who want extra days off, but mental cruelty to Cowboy fans.

Will Wade change?
:laugh2:
Good one.

Mind-numbing decisions are Jerry's specialties.

And I bet Wade has a better change of changing than his boss. What a joke.

Why do we need an NFL retread? They all suck, all have been fired or will be.
