It can't be a Dallas thing because Mavs fans are pretty loud when I hear them. I think someone who said it is the design of the stadium. I agree.

It's simple...the stadium is huge, therefore the sound does not echo as loud as it should.

How many times must this be repeated...the networks drown out the stadium sound. If they didnt, you wouldnt be able to hear the announcers.

I've been to Cowboys games and college games at Jerryworld, that place holds sound really well. It isnt the best because of the sheer volume of space, but it is MUCH louder in person than on TV.

Its definitely the fans that aren't loud enough. When I went to a soccer game there 80k was a lot louder than 90k or whatever it was during last years thanksgiving game.

I lost my voice yelling at the game last night..... We at least made them call a timeout. But sadly, it was rather quiet in there last night. I traveled from Alaska to see this game, great experience with the tour. I have to say this was my best birthday, just wish we would have won this game.

But then I look at the Rangers, who have a raucous crowd. The playoff atmosphere is amazing, one of the best around.

rangers are more of a fort worth team. more blue collar on that side of town.

Meh....as per my above post.... any fan base can bring it in the post season. It's how they are in September or, in your example, April that is the true test. April in Fenway Park > april in arlington. Just a fact.

the radio crew for espn said the ballpark in arlington in the world series was the loudest stadium they had ever been...football, basketball, baseball, etc...

The kind of people standing up and yelling arent the people paying for prime seats, and that's true for most stadiums around the league save a few places like Lambeau and Arrowhead.

You want a stadium full of people on their feet and screaming the whole game go watch college football.

I already said the players deserve 100% of the blame, but when it's quiet enough for them to call plays and not need a silent count, then operations run much more smoothly.

I don't agree with that at all. Plenty of NFL teams have sections of crazy fans near the field. The ones that don't are almost always perpetual losers. Heck, even Seattle is known for its raucous, loud crowd that makes things difficult for visiting teams. We've never had anything like that in my 35-plus years of watching the team. If we even have a section that merely stands up for the entire game, it must be way up in the cheap seats, a mile away from the field.

Dallas is a big whig sports town with a lot of rich season ticket holders. The "rowdy" fanbases are found in poor urban areas (Oakland and Atlanta) and the "working class" areas (Green Bay and Pittsburgh). New York, Houston, Dallas, etc. are not dominated by youthful rowdiness or working class frustration, they sit and chat and drink while the rody fans sit in the 400 sections. That doesnt change the fact that the stadium is much louder than it seems on TV.

The game was 100% on the players, but why does it seem like our home crowd is so pathetic? Opposing offenses have like, what... five false starts for the year in our home? I don't think the Giants had any last night. There's a reason we don't have a great record in Cowboys Stadium and there's a reason the Giants are 3-0 here. Compare our crowd to a place like Pittsburgh or Green Bay... there's no way the Giants would have looked so comfortable on offense in those places, especially on their final two drives.

Maybe it was loud there. But with how comfortable offenses look in our stadium and how teams never get a false start penalty (unless it's us), it makes me wonder. It's amazing because the Rangers have some of the loudest, most supportive fans I've ever seen. I guess Cowboys fans are a different breed.

I've been saying that for years. Cowboy fans aren't as loud, crazy and rowdy as buffalo, new york, philadelphia, pittsburgh, green bay and seattle fans are.

this has been a problem way before Cowboy stadium. When I was kid....I heard stories from people who visited Texas Stadium that fans would be eating grey poupon during the game and good percentage would leave early in 4th quarter. Its just seen as a form of pure entertainment down there. On east coast...it has a more life or death feel to it.
