Our LB's are Not Good

We extended Jaylon Smith after one good season. LVE has regressed to an awful LB. Sean Lee is useless so often. What was once thought to be one of the biggest strengths of this team, has turned into a huge liability. They are out of position so often. Extremely slow in reacting. They have no idea how to shed any blocks. They are definitely not the only group but this group was supposed to the the anchor of this defense. That Rams game from last year exposed this whole entire defense from up front to the secondary.

They could really use a true Mike who is stout against the run.

Ehh, I think they are handicapped by the scheme and flawed philosophies that impact them.

Inferior runstoppers at defensive tackle can't keep O Linemen from getting 2nd level clean shots on LB's.

Poor safety play behind them so the scheme calls for them to drop deeper than they really should need to.

New DC + Run-stuffing DT + Playmaking Safety = better LB play

A healthier LVE next year will help too

Our coaches are not very good.

Our LBs are fine but, just like the rest of the weapons wasting away on offense, they are handicapped by our inept coaching staff.

The front 7 needs a serious infusion of talent. I heard Jaylon Smith call himself a thumper last year. That's a joke, the Cowboys have no thumpers on D. They are just not a physical bunch and get manhandled a lot.

When the Rams game exposed that our DT's are giving away the plays, I think teams picked up on it and the LB's were victimized by the O Linemen knowing exactly where to attack them.

You know which team didn't pick up on this? Us.

He’s still protecting that knee. I really noticed it again Sunday night. He may never fully trust it.

I believe the coaching staff gave them all a shot of volume.
