Ko Simpson will indeed give up his last two years of eligibility. He is able to go pro now despite being a true sophomore because it will have been three years since his high school class graduated.

Excuse me but who?

:D I figured that would be asked.

You will hear plenty about him leading up to the draft. Don't be surprised if he's a 1st round pick.

Mods, please save this thread. I have a feeling I'm going to take a beating with this opinion :

Ko Simpson from South Carolina. He's a 3rd year sophmore. It will be very interesting to see where he goes. Def a good player though, and hard hitter.

I bet Ko Simpson is ranked up there next to Huff and Landry

I think he will be ranked behind Huff but in front of Landry.

can he cover? I have heard of him but not seen him play.

6 Int's in 04'
7 Int's in 05'

Besides Huff I think he's one of the better coverage safety's in the country

K.O. is appropriate....he can hit too.

But I read somewhere else that he's a true sophomore.

I'd be interested to see what's the real story.

Simpson signed with South Carolina in February 2003 and graduated from HS that June.

He wasn't a highly touted recruit, his only other offer was from Middle Tennessee State.

As such he agreed to defer his enrollment in college until January 2004 since South Carolina wanted to sign more than the NCAA allowed 25 scholarship players.

By enrolling in January of 2004 his scholarship counted towards the 2004 recruiting class instead of the 2003 class.

So he was out of high school for 3 years but only in college for 2. Still makes him eligible for the draft.
