Our Next Coach "No Puppets Jerry"

Tomlin is under contract through 2021 and I don’t see the Steelers firing him for what might be a playoff year minus a legit RB, WR and playing with backup and 3rd string QB’s. Tomlin should win COY if they make the playoffs. I’d love to have him in Dallas.

The Steelers are still barely in contention for a playoff birth this year after playing their (technically) 3rd and 4th string QBs, backup running backs (their starter going into this year is a backup, quite honestly) and backup receivers. Tomlin won’t win it but this is coach of the year territory. There is no way a season like this would happen in Dallas (we have the evidence). Garrett would likely lose every game without the starting QB, the other injuries would have us in contention for the #1 overall pick.

In my humble opinion, there is NO WAY Tomlin is available.

If the Steelers ownership (the same family who has had 4 coaches in the long history of the franchise) decides they want to part ways with a coach of that caliber, it would be the shocker of the year. (Next to the Luck retirement)

I doubt Tomlin gets canned nor Bill B goes anywhere but retirement if he's done with Kraft.

Riley IMO stays for a bit longer at OU.

On that list, just leaves Meyer which IMO is a strong possibility.

I am all for a strong head coach that will replace the country club atmosphere with accountability and have almost total control the team.
But....I think Jerry will go with Rivera or another veteran defensive coach. I doubt Jerry will want give up his role and I doubt Jerry will want to let go of Moore. He thinks this team is close so instead of blowing it up, he will look for tweaks.

We've been starting a 3rd string QB as well while our starter finishes out his collegiate career.
LOL

So who's next on the chopping block?
Urban Meyer
Lincoln Riley
Mike Tomlin
Bill Belichick

I believe from this list will be our next HC.
Who do you want?

This next hire will tell us a lot about the future. If it’s some no name, then it will be more of the same. Really need a HC with Parcells type attitude and one that has full control of his team. I feel like this is one of the most critical hires for the Jones organization.

COTY should be Tomlin IMO

well, these our the names i'm hearing, nothing else. i'd love Tomlin or urban. I think Jerry's age is going to make others chime in here. I don't see another no name HC. Anyway, next year should be exciting.

I believe those last two are complete fantasies. Of the other two, give me the guy who has won more than just a Big XII championship.

The 6 most likely and their odds of being hired.

Meyer 3-1
McDaniels 4-1
Saleh 5-1
Riley 5-1
Payton 6-1
Harbaugh 12-1
