He played some safety last year and after breaking his leg can't possibly think he's going to get top cornerback money, right? The mere thought of a FS named "Woodson" gets me good and stoked...

This could be his "prove I can still play" season.

Two reasons....at least Ty Law will tackle....and I could not envision charles woodson playing saftey with the same name on the back of his jersey as the great Darren Woodson.

Corner is a far more valuable position than FS.

He is a young veteran safety on a good defense. I'd rather catch a player on the rise than a player on the rise than one on the fall.

Additionally, he is a reasonable target. Shouldn't break the bank.

I guess we could all hope for players that have made their name and are already on the down hill side of a career and say Charles Woodson or something.

Ed Reed was a first rounder. One of the few first rounders that panned out at safety (and he plays SS most of the time anyway).

Signing Hope doesn't prevent you from drafting a guy either. What happens if you miss on the third rounder?
