Will go a long way towards telling us what Dallas is made of. It will have huge indications on the playoffs I imagine. With Atlanta behind the Saints and Seattle and SF, Arizona battling in the West it makes these games key for a wild card spot.

This may be a bit ambitious but I think the Cowboys win the division.

A few things need to happen of course.

Giants and Saints play soon and that could be the Giants 1st loss. If we can beat them in the Meadowlands then we are essentially tied.

We need to sweep the Commanders b/c I feel the Giants will as well. (They are half way there)

Then we need to sweep the Eagles.

Easier said than done but I feel they will have issues with our tight ends and running game. I've been saying this since pre-season and thus far it looks like they can be had. With the loss of Dawkins in the secondary and a couple of linebackers with injury they have struggled covering good TEs and RBs out of the backfield.

The stats bear it out.

Week 2: Shockey 4 - 49, Evans 2 -16 1TD
Week 5: Winslow 9 - 102 2TD

I only counted these two games b/c the other teams they have played, KC and CAR, have severe issues. They had a bye week 4.

The Saints didnt have to go crazy b/c the dominated that game.

Now, Winslow had Josh Johnson throwing to him and that can be taken one of two ways.

He is a young QB and left some plays on the field or...

He is a young QB and they tend to rely heavily on their TE as a "security blanket"

Either way, TEs will give them trouble.

We have a great one and a good one so we'll see what develops.

I say all that to say, I think we can do well in this division minus turnovers and mistakes.

Atlanta
Green Bay
Seattle

I honestly don't think we can win the division, but if we have any illusions about the wildcard we need to win those three.

Atlanta is as big a game as we have in the schedule. They're talented & young and have a good record.

Then the Seattle game is a trap game.

They'll be looking past Seattle to see what the iggles are doing. If we can somehow win these two upcoming games, we got a chance of making something out of this season.

I dont see us overtaking the Giants for the division.

Wildcard is our best chance, probably going to need 10 or 11 wins.

It's been 5 games in and we're only two games back (and we play them in one more game). It's not a question of if we can, it's a question of if we will.

Way too early to say. We need to beat them in NY, though. Beyond, that, they only need to drop one game with 11 to play.

The season isnt over with a loss next week, but it could potentially be the pivotol game of the season. Win and maybe they can get something going to make a run. Play very poor and lose and the "here we go again" theme will begin.

Looking at our schedule, I think there are three really key games. This one, because its after the bye and against a team we might be head to head with tie breakers on for a wildcard spot. The Green Bay game (same reason) and then the season ender vs Philly at home, which could be a play-in game like last years situation.

There are definiely three games we probably wont be favored in, at Philly, at NYG and at New Orleans. Then there's the games vs Seattle, Washington (twice), Oakland and San Diego, games in which we almost assuredly will be favored (and should win). Assuming we win those and lose those three as underdogs, we'd be 8-5.

No kidding. We're two games out with only 11 to play. That gap can't be closed.

Come on - Guys! This team is just a bit better than ordinary. Our coaching staff makes it ordinary. Take off the homer glasses. I will be happy if this 2009 team is a bit better than 7-9. We haven't even had any serious injuries yet, that can't be covered for. They will come, unless we a very lucky.
Really - i can see this as another 7-9 season.

The majority of our receivers can't run a decent route, and are very lucky to get a step on any but the worst defensive backs.

Our old OL can't consistently give Romo a pocket. Our RB's usually bounce runs to the outside, and thank God they are talented enough to do that.

Don't even get me started on the Defense. We will really be hurting with 1 or 2 key injuries, against the good offensive teams. (Giants Eagles Falcons Saints & possibly the Chargers and Packers). Hell, I can't even be 100% sure we will win both games against a lousy Skins team.

The Giants defense can be had. They've played some bad competition so far. Dallas really took it to them in the running game. Over 200 yds and knowbody has come even close since.

Running the ball is the Cowboy's strength this year, and they'd better utilize it to their advantage if they hope to advance anywhere.

If the trend continues, and the current level of play doesn't change, the Cowboys will end up six back.

The cowboys are 13-12 in their last 25 games - we know what they are and that's medicore -

Mediocore teams make the same mistake week after week

Mediocore teams play up and down to the level of their competition - which is why they're involved in alot of close teams

Mediocore teams will probably lose to a team they shouldn't but then beat a team they shouldn't

Mediocore teams have mediocore coaching staffs

I agree. If we can beat Atlanta, and then take care of Seattle, it's on.

I have to totally agree with this in its entirety and sadly even the last danged sentence.

They lose to the Saints, we beat them. Tied for 1st.
Of course we still need to keep winning, but it's only a 2 game difference.
Now if they beat the Saints, then yes, it will be very tough from there.
