Our number 1 need is several cornerbacks

I think it has more to do with the safeties and here's my thinking:

We are playing a lot more man this year and have not picked up the INT's. Certainly, Carr and Claiborne are more suited for man. But, our safeties are not. And Carr and Claiborne are just not that great at man. When we went to zone in the Tampa game, we got 2 picks (and should have had 3 if Patmon doesn't drop the easy catch).

If we can move Byron to FS and get a legitimately good SS, we can then switch to man and zone depending on what we want to do and do both more effectively.

Plus, it's usually easier to get zone corners that can do the job than finding good man corners. And good man corners tend to cost a lot more.

Our corner play or defense for that matter has not been as bad as people make it out to be, especially considering how pathetic our offense is at times.

Getting more turnovers is a necessity but it is not like opposing wide receivers are killing us. Turnovers are scarce all over the defense, I am not sure why. Sometimes turnovers can be flukey and it is like the ball is just not bouncing our way at times.

I do agree we need corners, mainly because we may only have two decent options on our roster in a couple months if/when Carr/Claiborne go their separate ways.

Of course your best cb is lost for the season, add to that no consistent pass rush. What else do you expect from the remaining cb's?

Like it or not, Carr needs to stay. He is under contract and he can play the scheme better than Claiborne who is limited in versatility and scheme nuances. Let Mo walk, keep Carr, draft a play-making safety, draft a zone CB, and hope Scandrick returns healthy.

I disagree that CB is our number one need... I would definitely put DT ahead of that, and also both FS and SS...

I guess a lot of this depends on whether you view Byron Jones as a CB or a FS... I think Jones is better suited for playing CB...

A lot of this also probably depends on whether or not Hardy is re-signed... If Hardy is not re-signed, then I'd say our biggest need becomes a pass-rushing DE... To all the people hoping for the Cowboys to select a QB with a top-10 pick, you better hope Dallas can re-sign Hardy, otherwise our immediate need for a pass-rusher might take precedent over finding Romo's heir apparent.

They've spent on the pass rush in the last couple of years. 3 new pass rushers and they're not getting much there. I get the being upset about the corners before, without a rush, but they've invested in rush now as well and they can't get a consistent one.

So people acting like they haven't put any resources into that at this point are either blind, have a serious anti-Jerry/FO agenda (Which I'll admit I don't blame them for in the least), or they're just flat out dumb.

My mother didn't raise any fools. I want cornerbacks and I want a lot of them and I want them now.

Well, when FA starts but you know what I'm saying.

Our CB's are not play-makers, that much is true, but they're also not dog poo... Carr catches more flack around here than any of them, and he might be overpaid, but he doesn't suck by any means... Mo hasn't lived up to where he was selected in the draft, but he's had his moments... Byron Jones has been pretty good as a rookie... And Scandrick will be back next season which should also help...

We need to sign the Dallas native Tashaun Gipson to play FS for us... I think having a ball hawk like that at FS would help generate more interceptions across the board...

I don't see them paying Carr 13 million another year, I could be wrong...I wouldn't mind seeing him back but rarely do you see a player play their last two seasons of those huge free agent contracts.

Are you being serious or are you trolling? I really can't tell. I remember you having the complete opposite position when it came to cornerbacks/dline

I see them paying him if they can't find a suitable (cheaper) replacement in FA or the draft.
