Our o-line is fine.. not the prob

Dude you know and I know Jamaal Jackson did not play and their OL was not the same. Plus, give a little credit to our defense. Philly just did not match up well with our defense. Imagine us with Proctor at center. I'd like to see how many times McNabb was sacked when they had all of their starters in.

McNabb has never been an easy sack to begin with. All I'm saying youth or not that Philly line is not that great

Well, I think they're OL is top 10 in the league when everyone is healthy. My main point was that you need to get younger on the OL sooner or later. Flozell probably has a year left but Dallas should focus on replacing Kosier and Colombo, it's time to move on. This OL stopped us from going to the NFC Championship.

I agree I think you need to look at bring in youth along the line you do it now and within a year or 2 maybe they take over on the line. I don't just get rookies and throw them out there and play sink or swim they better be able to play and in the meantime I'm not ditching vet offensive lineman. We are looking at an upcapped year we don't have to get rid of players we really want to keep around for a year or 2 longer. In the meantime we do have some dead weight who is sitting on the bench like Proctor and McQ I would gladly make room for some youth with a real chance to start than some guys who chances are never will

Exactly. The good news is we know we have something with Free. Whether it's at LT or RT remains to be seen. I think we still need to draft the top tackle on the board in round one encase Free is nothing more than a solid starter at RT. That means we'll still need a replacement for Flo. I do think McQuistan and Proctor is gone...thank God.

Yes they did and this line helped us get to the NFC divisional round and win our 1st playoff game. Always looking to upgrade when we can and we should look to do just that however I'm not going to act like this line has been a disaster either.

I also have to throw in that Romo was sacked more than any other year in his career. Maybe in past years it was Romo who hid our OL problems because of his great pocket awareness? Romo has learned to take the sack instead of forcing a throw or committing a turnover, but I think the increased sack numbers showed that this OL wasn't as good as we all thought it was.

I would not discount Brewster as a player who could compete. I do think we need to look at adding both a tackle and interior lineman in this draft but as I mentioned in another thread you try and do it without reaching for a player. I don't want to grab lineman because we feel we need to I want to get a lineman because I feel he can do the job.

Agreed. I think the Boys need to be prepared to jump up a few spots to get a good lineman - the many years of missing on OL picks has got to be corrected now. It takes too long to develop most linemen! One of the posters on here suggests drafting a OLman high every year; I'm inclined to agree with that; without good OL (and DL) play, you aren't going to be very effective!

Although I think Free will be solid for us, I don't think we can go into next season knowing he'll be our LT, so I think Flozell comes back for one more year. I think Kosier and Colombo are the players who need to be pushed for their starting jobs. If either of them don't like it, ship them off. Free looked better at RT and has more upside than Colombo. I would love if Brewster took over the LG spot, and a position battle between him and Kosier would be awesome. Gurode and Davis are solid and they are locks to return. Here's what I hope happens:

LT: Flozell Adams (however we draft a OT in the 1st round to replace Flozell next year)

LG: Robert Brewster

C: Andre Gurode

RG: Leonard Davis

RT: Doug Free

I'm not sure anyone at VR really knows how good Brewster is. He's already missed a lot of work through injury. Not saying he wont make it or he's a bust, but I think it will be tough on him if VR had these expectations of him for next season. I'd be pleased if he could provide good depth for us next year. Hopefully he'd get a few snaps during the season.

Brewster is a big unknown still. We need to look harder at OL this year then ever before and pinpoint 2-3 guys that we really believe can play and get them. I want a G, C, T - we need to get rid of the proctologist and probably McQ and likely Holland who has been a disapointment.

Colombo is past his expiration date and is the biggest reason we lost on Sunday. Re-watch the game if you don't believe that.

Free is only going to get better and is already better than Colombo.

Flo despite his irritating false starts and aging legs is still strong as hell and holds his own against the very best this league has to offer.

Kosier may have moments of ugliness against a strong bull rush but the guy is the brains of this line and is fantastic at pulling and making running lanes. What the line was like without him 2 seasons ago is proof of his importance. To think Brewster can start with absolutely no experience yet, replacing a guy like Kosier no less, is foolish.

Gurode is over-rated but he gets the job done. We need to draft his replacement.

Davis is a beast and has been getting the job done. No need to upgrade at all.

LT Adams
LG Kosier
C Gurode
RG Davis
RT Free

Keep Colombo as a back-up. Bring Brewster along. Draft a center, tackle and guard.

Idiots saying cut Colombo are just that. IDIOTS. He is not a great RT, but is a good one and just in case you have not noticed, good TACKLES ARE HARD TO FIND. Free if he can improve his technique to handle power rushers (after 3 years in a pro weight program any strenght improvements will be minor) can absolutley play well at RT though the jury is still out on LT. The Hotel was handling Allen (at that point he was playing better then any of the others) and has had a good season overall. He even cut down on his false starts. He probably has 1-2 more good seasons left in him.

Interior Linemen can play well into their 30's so this worry about age inside is over blown. I would like to replace Kosier with someone stronger since he got truly owned sunday. He is a very good player but just not stong enough to go up against the increasingly bigger and stronger DTs we are facing.

Gurode and Bigg are pretty good and are keepers and will be for several more years. We need another tackle if Brewster is not him and we need a big strong guard that can move- hard to find but can be done.

Ummm since when did Free show an issue with power moves? I realize its fun to make stuff up and all but I don't recall seeing that.

Free is going to be a probowl fixture for us very soon.
