I can't figure out why our great O line can't pick up the blitz? The Commanders came after Romo untouched, unblocked, and with no one lining up on them? The Giants didn't blitz so much which was a mistake on their part. The Eagles came after Romo and it worked. I know every team understands the importance of pressuring the QB but most offensive Coordinators have some sort of answer for it. Its like, blitz the Cowboys because more times than not it will end up in a sack or a bad play. We rarely make them pay for going all out. What is weird to me is how a team can blitz, Romo buys time, and no one is open???? I still don't understand how Washington was able to bring the house most of the game and we couldn't adjust? What the heck is the problem? Is Romo not seeing this? Is he looking downfield too much on the blitz and not dumping it off to a RB enough? I know we played like crap against the Eagles but the Eagles just followed what Washington did and it worked. I'm not even going to go into how bad OUR pass rush is, that's another topic all together..........

It's not just on the OLine. The Cowboys offense is based on slow developing routes by the receivers and eventually that's going to be a problem for pass protection. They have to find ways to get some more quick throws in the offense, IMO.

If you watch the All-22 in games like the one against the Skins, you'll often see that the routes are such that Romo has no short or intermediate options on many snaps.

You can't call the Cowboys OL a "great Oline" yet...

The offensive line lacks experience and is just average in pass blocking when you consider their performance against the blitz. IMHO they are the #1 run blocking OL in the NFL, however, they rank in the bottom half of the league in allowing sacks.

I've read somewhere that this offense doesn't emphasize hot routes. Dez should be able to murder the blitz with a slant.

It seems we need more quickness/speed to combat the blitz. That would help in developing short/intermediate options. The only person we have fitting that bill is Beasley...

I think sometimes Romo stands in the pocket in an all out blitz when he should move out where he can get to his receivers better. I see other QB's do that all the time. I see Dez and others wide open during a sack. Just a thought....I know its much harder out there than it looks though...

I think this is a big weakness that other teams have noticed. They need to fix it....quick.

Well what I heard was that when they tried too, certain players, including one that's trying to sign a big deal soon, struggled with making the correct adjustments. That was key in regards to some of those old head scratcher INTs that just so happened to be headed his way. Notice we haven't had as many of those this season. While part of that is because of the running game, part of it is because that most of the WRs aren't being asked to do as much.
