If there's genuinely no upgrades at any OL positions (sans LT), on any other team's practice squad out there and we'll stay 'inhouse'....then we must go with the following for Romo to survive and DeMarco any lanes:

LT Tyron Smith
LG Nate Livings
C Killer Kolowski
RG Phil Costa
RT Jeremy Parnell

Anyone dispute this??

I was a big Doug Free fan but even I have to admit... he's lost it... Benadeaux is the worst player on this team. He is terrible... NAte Livings isnt much better. I'd like to go ahead and see Arkin get in there... ABSOLUTELY NO WAY he is worse than Bernadeaux and he could be getting experience. I'd cut Bernadeaux RIGHT NOW... TODAY. I'd also cut Dockery. And sign Holland (if he's in shape) and Gurode. Maybe getting benched will wake Doug Free up.. He has talent... I just dont know whats wrong with him. He looks like he's never played before.

Smith
Livings
Costa
Arkin
Parnell

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but is Cook an option at RT at all? If healthy of course. I know he wasn't exactly great at C but I believe RT is his more natural position. I'm just saying this because I don't trust Parnell at all. How we never managed to get a decent backup at OT is crazy to me.

i DO NOT...In fact I had the same feeling last nite after watching parnell in his first extended action...my only question is.... do you switch costa and kolowski?

Smith Livings Kowalski Costa Cook

Need to try something else.

Isn't Smith out a couple of weeks?

We could be in serious trouble.

Thats what I thought. He went out of the game yesterday. Not sure why.

I believe Smith is out at least a couple of weeks. So Parnell at LT and we are stuck with Free at RT.

High ankle sprain, apparently. But it sounds like there is a huge range of severity with these types of injuries. Some are nearly season enders, some only knock you out for a couple of days.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Wow,,, that was really depressing.

Any way you slice it, there are three players on the OL that are currently unacceptable and there are NO answers on the current roster. Swapping one for the other doesn't really help much,,,

Whether Smith is hurt or not, we will see Free out there unfortunately. There is not a chance JJ lets him get benched, remember he had an outstanding day yesterday according to Jerry.

Yes, he was very good at helping Tony up after getting beat and watching his QB get blasted.:bang2:

I thought Bernardau play at C was OK. Better than Cook if you ask me. Dockery and Free on the other hand... :puke:

I agree about giving Parnell more playing time if Smith is able to return on Thursday.

with smith out:

free(he sucks worse as an RT actuallly), livings, costa(please be back)/kowalski, bern, cook

with smith and costa back.

smith, livings, costa, kowalski, cook

free makes 5+m as the 6th ol....

after this wash game we have 10 days so hopefully we do see some returnees and some changes along the front.

i've had a high ankle sprain and missed no time at all. just had very real soreness if i stepped at a certain angle and had to play severely taped up.

i've obviously heard of other high ankle sprains as worse than breaks.

hopefully smith trudges out thursday with a club foot, lol.

Well, now we hope to gut out the next two games and hope that Smith and Costa get well. Just having Costa back would improve two positions (no fan of Bernardeau, but having him back at RG is an upgrade from Dockery). Then hope that between Parnell, Free and Cook, someone at RT can keep Tony from getting carried off the field.

I'm not expecting Kowalski to play a role at RT unless everyone gets hurt. I don't see them trusting him at a new position coming off an injury.

And I've been rooting for Arkin for two years now. But the fact that they still don't trust him even as a stopgap to be active on gameday...well, not good. I'll roll my hope for him over for another year. (That's the fourth time I've said "hope" in this message, so that about sums up my optimism about the line).

I am right there with you.
All we have is hope at this point.

Then again if we had taken David DeCastro r1 we'd still be sitting here hoping and wishing and talking about next year. We needed 8 new OL by the end of 2010 and we just never were going to get that many guys in here quickly.

Missing so badly on Marten on Brewster really hurt us.
