Tyron isn't the Tyron of old. He is playing well for the most part, but injuries seem to be taking a toll. I would not rework his contract again. We need to get his contract back in line with his future performance.

L. Collins is the next OL to have his contract come up for extension. Do you think the Cowboys extend him? I would say he is no better than average as a RT.

Would you let him walk or resign him. Would you kick him back inside or keep him at RT?

I think we're still hurting from not having Ron Leary and Doug Free out there. I have faith that Williams will eventually cause us not to miss Leary as much, but idk how I feel about Collins as the long term RT. He's got to get better. I also would look into drafting a left tackle sooner than later. I know that's not the popular opinion, but there I said it.

Yeah, we need to be looking to reload at some point. Collins may net you a 3rd if we let him walk or in a trade in the future.

La'El Collins turned out to be JAG, Smith is getting there. Going to have to draft new Ts sooner rather than later.

That's the way it seems to be headed, although Williams could kick out to OT at some point.

Our interior should be strong for a very long time. OG's and OC's tend to age well, so both Martin and Frederick should be able to play at a pro bowl level into their 3rd contract. Williams has the upside to be a pro bowl level OG.

Tyron unfortunately may age poorly from here on out. Im going to take a wait and see in Collins, but we may have to pick an OT within the first 60 picks of the draft sometime in the near future

I would kick Williams to tackle and draft Tyron’s eventual replacement next year. I’d only re-sign Collins for 5-7 million a year. Anything more and I’d let him walk.

I think Williams is Collins' replacement at RT. I doubt we sign a free agent contract for Collins.

As for Tyron, we'll see how he plays. But his contract is not a problem. His base salary is only about 10 for years to come. This year we're taking a 17.5 cap hit for Tyron. So they've started to get ahead on that. After this year, there will be 11mil more of dead money to wind down.

Just put Williams to RT where he can Excel with his Speed and footwork against Edge Rushers. I never understood the idea of moving him inside. He played Tackle basically 90% of College.

He isnt build to block 300 Pound Maulers. Let Collins go inside. He is more of a Mauler and heavier and has the mean stroke in him.

certainly did come at us fast.

This has seemed to happen each of the last two seasons, where there was some juggling and the OL starts slower than expected and finds it's stride somewhere along week 5. Last year it was the ping-ponging between Green and Cooper at OG. I can't remember the issue the year before, but it was the same sort of thing.

It might be that we've got two new starters in the interior OL. Whatever it is, the holes aren't there for Elliott right now, and it's not pretty to watch.

How about drafting some offlineman in the 3rd and 4th round and coaching them up as most teams do?
Duh.......

I noticed during player introductions his PFF rating was 28th RT. Hes good for at least 2 holds a game. Mostly on run plays which is weird.

Tackles are similar to qb's. Draft them high, groom them, trade them if you don't need to extend them, and repeat.

I haven't seen anything wrong with him physically.

He's made mental mistakes but not physical mistakes unless I missed something in the Giants game.

I agree on LEary.

Doug Free was done. Glad he's gone.

Chaz Green was a 3rd rounder duh. Not only that but teams are in need of OL. They aren't getting guys left and right from the 3rd and 4th rounds.
