Our OLB's and DE's get held A LOT!

I see this being mentioned in a few other threads, but I think it needs a thread of its own.

I constantly see our OLB's and yes, even our DE's get relatively cleanly past their blockers, usually to the outside, and then seeming to have a clean lane to blockers, but constantly they are slown down just enough by the grip on their jerseys to not get to the QB. Also, the delay is often enough so that they can't get hand up for pass deflections or get in the passing lane of QB when the QB is rolling out. Most of the times these aren't blatant holds where the player is pulled down, but they are clear cut none-the-less. And, as would usually be the case, when Bledsoe was in their and Oline was struggling at start of the year, Flo and a few others on our oline were doing the same thing. The difference was, our team was getting penalized and a bunch, including our TE's while, other teams, particularly over last 4-5 games haven't been getting called.

Check the replays of some of the games our outside guys are beating their blockers but getting held up a bunch by the dangling arm hooked into jersey, allowing QB to escape the pocked by that half second.

Our pressure is better at times (although yesterday, in spots it was dreadful, although I think this was part gameplan/scheme and NYG having a lot of blockers back).

Parcells should break with tradition and send in a tape on this one issue. Happens pretty clearly 2-3 per game where it could be called and there are a few more close/questionable ones as well.

I think last week against Bucs when they scored early, Ware was blatantly held on a 3rd down and long play coming nicely around his blocker on outside. Cost a 1st down or touchdown, can't remember and could have been a big play in game.

I am amazed how many illegal hands to the face I have seen our opponents get away with the last 3 games especially.

Yeah. Apparently, it only applies when it goes against the Cowboys because a former Cowboy caused it to be instituted.

Back to the holding calls. Yes, there seems to be an inordinate amount of holding calls that don't get called against the 'Boys when they are pretty obvious. I've counted two or three on D. Ware alone. That non-holding call on Ellis where he "ran through a hold" that caused the flag to be picked up showed me there is a little something fishy going on with respect to holding when the Cowboys are involved.

The refs won't stop. We'll just have to beat our opponents AND the refs moving forward. That's what we did last night by the way. The Giants scored 10 points, the refs scored 10 ponts for hte Giants, and Dallas BEAT THEM BOTH by scoring 23 points.

Hatcher gets hands in his face a lot.

I look for the holds every down, isn't there a ref that is supposed to as well?

Granted, when we are on offense, I don't look once for holds, which I am sure occur. Same frequency? Who knows

There is nothing homer about it. Yesterday it was as bad as i've ever seen it.

That play where Brandon Jacobs got a big gain on that screen pass I counted 3 people holding just on that play.

It wasn't like it was a questionable hold either. The guy had his hands down in the guys shoulder pads.

I saw this several times through the game and eventually just learned to not even say anything about it because it wasn't going to be called.

I showed that wife to my wife in slow mo on Tivo to show her how obvious the holding was. There was a good shot during the replay where the offensive lineman while he was trying to move out in front of Jacobs to set up the screen had his arm reached back behind him grabbing inside the shoulder pads, just pulling the defender. He wasn't even looking, just grabbed and ran. And it was clear if he wasn't holding the defender would have ran behind him and made the play. Near or behind the LoS.
