Then other teams must be operating at 1 + 1= 5, because I don't see where he has taken risks and is operating without a net.
Not since he bought the team and Johnson turned it into the black. He did take the same risk Bright did with a franchise in the red in the books and fans turning away.
Johnson turned it and once he was gone it started to sag and three 5-11 seasons in a row actually put him in a no risk situation because he was perceived as a reckless risk taker since Johnson left. Parcells was the 2nd smartest decision he ever made because he knew he needed credibility and the perception that he could give control of the football operation to someone who knew it because Booger had already proven himself to be incompetent on the football side. Hiring Parcells also paved the way for him to request a higher loan from the NFL. They all, erroneously, thought he had learned his lesson, he was not a football man, he was a businessman. But he only faked it to get the one item that would make him bulletproof.
And he is not "our" owner, he is their owner. I ignore the head clown in his own circus in order to remain as much of a fan as I am today. He makes it a chore and I really do think I take too much joy at his ugly puss after a loss.
It isn't optimism; it is nothing more that overinflated ego.
