Our passing offense has improved

Over the last 4 games we finally decided to attack the middle of the field.

Beasley and Witten are finally being put in position to take advantage of teams that are loading the box, and when Dez and T.Will don't get separation, Romo finally has other options besides running around hoping he can buy enough time to make a play.

Also, we've seen less of Romo having to make plays outside of the system in general over the last month because of this and he has played in the pocket more than ever.

How about the quick pass to Dez yesterday that he took to the house? I've been begging for those types of plays for years and we're finally seeing some of it.

It took forever but props to the coaches for finally figuring some things out and adjusting our offense against teams that load the box and press our WR's.

There were a few more times yesterday where I felt they could've used that play again

Our schemes are less basic now.

If we didn't have the most efficient QB in the league, the league's top rusher and the leader in TD receptions people would have seen long ago how basic our schemes are.

It's not about that.. It's about having an answer on almost every play.

Over the last month we've used the slant and posts over the middle a lot more.

We've also ran quick passes to our WR's.. I think we should still do more of it but at least we're doing it some now.

I like having play designs that give answers instead of relying on Romo's feet to buy time and find one constantly.

Romo said they kept a few blitz beaters "in their pocket" too.

So more to come...

Great news.... I especially liked the " quick hitter" types of passing you routinely see NE, Denver run. Even saw our version of the legal 5 yard pick a couple of games ago......

Good post.

Don't you get the feeling that Beasley can get open on virtually any play. I can't see anybody staying with him on his first move whether it's inside or out.

He's just too quick. Impossible to cover if you don't jam him at the LOS.

It's shocking it took us 12 weeks to really get him involved but it's better late then never.

Absolutely... We still need to do it more.

You saw what a simple quick pass to Dez can do yesterday.

That is an easy low risk play to one of the best open field runners in the game.

We should be doing that 4 or 5 times a game and it should've been going on since he got here but we all know Garrett is kind of slow.

No but im shocked it took Linehan 12 weeks to recognize what I've been saying about this offense for years.

All Linehan really offered differently in the first 12 weeks was a better run to pass ratio.

Washington, NYG in the 2nd game, and Philly really exposed our weak passing designs and Linehan corrected it and now we have answers against the defensive front that always kills us.

Dez usually doesn't do anything with those quick throws. It was a pleasure to see him finally break one for a big play.

I think we were just bludgeoning defenses with the run the first half of the season, and it was working. Teams adjusted and started taking that away more often. It took a few games, but as Romo hinted at, the coaches adjusted, and since the Thanksgiving game, Murray's numbers have been down but we've made them pay for it in the passing game.

You seem to think these people do not know what they are doing as if you do know. Garrett is slow? Garrett knows more than you would ever know the act is old, We know you refuse to give any credit because you seem to think you know how to coach

Teams are also game planning the run now more than they were.
