Awesome playcalling on offense. Seriously.

I used to be able to know what were going to do exactly. Not today. I also like the fact that we still kept running even though they have 8 in the box. That was smash mouth football at its finest.

I think this team will go very far if we just lean on the run to set up the pass.

It keeps our defense fresh and keeps their offense on the sidelines.

Huge.
It cannot be emphasized enough.

And much of it is because of this OL.
They have made all this possible.

And kudos to Linehan for not getting the itchy trigger finger on the pass plays.

So many here were lamenting his hiring saying he was a pass first, pass second, pass always OC and look at what we have here.

This guy just might know what he has and how to use them.

Just think of what is going to happen to the defense if this GM can invest in the DL just as heavily over the next year or two...

The good thing is this mindset will keep us in a lot of games. It will be tough to blow us out if we run and keep TOP and if it's close and it comes down to Bailey--

Boom!

Totally agree. But for as down as I had been on Garrett's play calling in the past, Linehan is able to do this in large part because of the revamped offensive line. Even if we had tried, I don't know that we could have pushed the pile and controlled the tempo through the ground game in the past with the personnel we had.

It's turning into a perfect storm of talent and coaching acquisition on the offensive side of the ball.

This is what having a great OL leads to, we can now execute a much higher percentage of our plays and the play caller looks like a genius

And to add to this already good post, the reason we keep running the ball even though we may get stopped, is because when you're a great Offensive line, when you start figuring out where the weaknesses are, you can start wearing them down. Also, Murray is the real deal. When a player can break multiple tackles and make quick cuts, he's the real deal.

That fake reverse in the 1st quarter surprised me. I don't think I've ever seen us do a regular reverse.

Actually, I think the Dallas Cowboys are very predictable on offense.
They are going to line up and belt you right in the mush!

Except for when we have a lead, the playcalling in the third qtr was horrible i knew the saints would tighten the game up. I am sorry I am of the mindset if you whipping someone you whip them good for 3 qtrs before backing off.

We have three different run plays. We run them to different gaps and sides but they are the same plays. Inside power, stretch and the counter. Teams know whats coming but they have to overload the box to stop it.

I think you mistake predictability and execution.

I think this offense took what the Saints were giving them for a good portion of the game. In the first half they looked and if they saw 8 down they tended to throw it quite often, frequently with play action. It was really in the second half where we decided we're running this ball and you have to come and stop us.

Great point I was going to bring up. When we tried killing the clock the playcalling went very vanilla. I know we faced 9 man fronts and every gap was filled but you could tell from Murray's body language he wasn't happy. We have to get first downs and not go 3 and out.

I will also say that I am curious how people claim to know how predictable the offense is when you cannot even see routes 10 yard downfield. You cannot even see the passing playcalls as a result.
