The offensive line! Even when Julius was healthy, He was not getting any long runs because our offensevie lineman cannot get to the second level of LB's. It's very clear that Parcells and Payton do not trust this line. To make matters worse we have a quarterback with the pocket presense of Chad Hutchinson. Bledsoe is a good quarterback when the OL gives him time to throw such as in the Eagles game. I live in Steeler territory so I watch a lot of their games, and it gets frustrating watching them dominate with 2 new players and we have had 3 years to build a decent line. I was so sure this would have been Parcells top priority when he got here, but we are not much better than we were with the Campo lines. I don't know how anyone else feels but I am getting tired of the dumb overweight lineman we have had since the 90's. I am ready for a line like the Steelers, Broncos and the Falcons have. Quick, smart and athletic.

Your right on......I second your sentiments......
I think with our first 3 picks in next years draft, we address this pathetic O-Line....because we will only go as far as the O-Line takes us.

I agree to a certain degree. The OL definitely needs an upgrade but the first priority this year had to be to rebuild the D.

Hopefully the OL has first priority this next offseason

I think the O-Line has held this team and Parcells hostage in a lot of ways. I think there were guys that Bill would have liked to let go and others he might have wanted to bring in. Unfortunately, there were salary issues, egos, and other things that needed to be sorted through.

I honestly think that if Bill had his way, he would have nothing but solid, no-names on that line busting their butt on every play and not making any mental mistakes. Instead, he's had talented vets who have made silly mistakes, while not always buying into the system, and young players who were a little uncertain about things.

I do think the line has been very good at times this year, but there are some problems too. Flozell had concentration lapses at times. Larry Allen has lost a lot of his footspeed and quickness. Al Johnson doesn't always have the strength to hold his own. Marco Rivera has been coming off a serious back problem and learning a new system. Rob Pettiti is a rookie who is seeing the NFL for the first time. And you have guys like Gurode and Tucker who have their own flaws as well...

But there are some reasons to hope that things get turned around because there is still talent here, and this group has played well in stretches. They need a little more consistency. That may still come....

Right on Pops. We couldn't rebuild the entire team this past offseason but we did a good job of it on the defensive side of the ball.

I personally knew going into this year, the OL was going to be a problem but was more concerned with RT than anything.

Now we have Flo out and I think Rivera is not even close to earning what we're paying him. Flo, Larry and Rivera aren't going to be here forever either.

We'll definitely need to address the OL in the offseason.

We've spent how many draft picks and spent how much $$ on it since parcells has been here?

Go check the records. I don't disagree, I'm just saying we've spent quite a few picks in 3 years looking for OL. It's not as easy to say "we need to address it". We've been doing that for 3 years and it's gotten us nowhere.

I think the key to it may be as you suggest. perhaps we need to change our philosophy of the style of OL we select.

BTW, will Peterman ever be able to help us?

Peterman was good enough to be playing with the first team in TC when Rivera had his injury. And wasnt he starting at RG last year before he went down for the year?

Did you see the game last night? Atlanta highest draft pick on their offensive line was a 7th. In fact, they have 3 or 4 7th rounders and Matt Lehr who we drafted is starting and he was only a 5th rounder by us. Apparently they've addressed the OL problem.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but you can't blame the OL for Bledsoe holding the ball too long and not checking down to secondary receivers, and he's done plenty of that.
