Our "Franchise Player" cost us the game... 3 times.

The guy who Jerry decided to label our "Franchise Player" and then proceed to throw millions at (after one successful season) cost us this game, despite the lackluster performance by the offense.

Ken Hamlin had 3 chances to make an impact play and ended up going 0 for 3. First, he didn't recover that fumble. Second AND Third, he (who prior to coming here was known for being a tackler and not a cover safety) went low and missed the tackle on BOTH long runs.

Ken Hamlin - FORMER Pro Bowler playing like he got paid....

That fumble of the fumble was one of the dumbest looking things I have ever seen. Just total slapstick 3 Stooges material. But that seems to be the point for this team. its not "who's gonna step and make a play for us", but rather its "who is going to choke for us"...

This team does at times look like the Keystone Cops, no doubt.

Hamlin owned up to the fact he basically let the defense down with those plays, I'll also throw some blame on Zach Thomas, who can't shed blocks to save his life anymore and Bradie James for those long runs as well.

Giving Hamlin a new contract was an obviously stupid move, yet Jones made it anyway.

I'm not sure they would've called that a fumble. He started to lose control of the ball, but then sort of regained it and then hit the ground. I've seen calls like that be called 'no fumble.'

But other than that he stunk. He seems to have about 4 games a year where he forgets how to tackle. Last night it cost the team dearly. I'm not calling for him to be cut. He played well for the Cowboys last year and has been decent (albeit overpaid) this year. But the team definitely needs to draft an athletic safety with some cover ability.
