In order of priority - please, this is MY opinion:

T- We must find a better option than McGingerkid. This cannot be ignored.

Tony Pashos? How about Cory Lekkerkerker?

CB/KR: I would avoid any WR/KR not named Roscoe Parrish (who did not get released).

Let's take a look at McQuarters or Deltha O'Neal... if they are cooked then let's get Oglesby back in here and go with Miles again on KR's. He had a nice preseason for the Ravens and knows the defense.

Rod Hood?

Yamon Figurs is intriguing but he can't catch a cold, and he has put the ball on the ground more than Stanback. Just say no. I live in Baltimore. He stinks.

DT: Siavii is serviceable, but just by a "Nose". I would keep looking. Based upon what I've seen waived by other teams- you might need a microscope to see anything of quality here. Then again, it's not my job.

A name? It escapes me.

ILB: Does anyone want Bobby Carpenter to be an every down 'backer if Brooking or Bradie go down w/injury? Would that not be a disaster in wait? Does anyone want to see poor lil Barbie trucked by Brandon Jacobs or Aveion Cason for that matter in a game of importance?

Bobby doesn't deserve his roster spot as it is, but I do understand his value in the nickel on obvious passing downs. With JWill's injury we must act:

Daryl Blackstock is intriguing, especially in a 3-4. Could be an inside/outside type on the par of Doc Oc and has experience in the league. He's fairly stout. Put him inside and you have another physcial presence.

Another? Ryan Fowler is solid, and a former Cowboy. He outplayed Shanle while here. Knows the position. You can do worse. See above.

Former Cowboys highly marked prospect Beau Bell was cut by Cleveland. It wouldn't shock me to see him mentioned. though I doubt signed.

Lekkerkerkerkerkerkerkerkerker... couldn't stick when he was with us a few years ago. I'll pass. Rocky McIntosh might be a better choice. He's had starting experience and could at least fill in if needed.

I wouldn't mind bringing Fowler back. I thought he was a good player for us and was disappointed when we let him go. He actually started a few games in 2005 and was OK. He's got decent size and is a pretty good tackler as I recall. Nice choice.

Marcus Freeman might be a good fit, too...

This would be a nice pick up, but only in the sense of replacing Hodge who is on IR. This would be another ST body out there too.

As far as Carp is concerned I am ready to bring back Zach (released by Chiefs) to replace Carp and to back up and spell Brookings.

I think Zach is toast, not worth the vet min IMHO

I think he would do fine in spot duty spelling Brookings, but you did help me realize and re-focus my thinking that he is probably not the best choice. Because I am so caught up in how disappointed I am with Carpenter I fell into the trap of "anyone but Carpenter" (ABC). So yes, we need to find someone who is good, not just someone who is not Carpenter. Hopefully someone who fits the bill becomes available on the waiver wire.

I think you mean Damion McIntosh. Gosh, I hope you do.

What happened to Zach Thomas retiring?

Did he change his mind?

If so, I hope someone picks him up. It would get us a compensatory draft pick next year.

There was a thread last week about Zach Thomas deciding to retire instead of playing for the Chiefs.
