Our receivers cannot separate

The reason we cannot convert third downs is that our receivers simply cannot separate from coverage. Other than Beasley and Witten underneath. But when teams like the Vikings and Giants who have top #1 CBs who can man up Dez, and press our other receivers underneath, none of our receivers can separate from coverage. We really need an Alvin Harper type who can get deep and make a catch (Brice with another drop).

The Brice drop didn't hurt us as we scored on the next play.

But man, talk about disappearing acts. What was up with Dez? Totally taken out of the game.

Dez really needs to step up. One short reception that he fumbles away??? We can't win In the playoffs with him disappearing. Of course last night Dak's passes were so off the mark I don't think it would've mattered.

Great point, you are right on. Except for the TD, very few open receivers. Dez, again, disappeared when we needed him most.

One of the first intelligent posts I've seen on this post-game melt-down.

No question that Prescott wasn't accurate.

But to suggest it was all him would be wrong.

The wideouts were doing nothing last night.

I dont buy that for one second. Now all a sudden after 13 games our WRs cant separate

Well what were they doing for the last 11 games

Sometimes you gamble in free agency and it pays off. Janoris Jenkins has been a beast all year. Completely locked up Dez all game. For the second time this year. This allows NYG to put DRC on Beasley which kept him in check. Outside of Denver, probably the best CB duo in the league.

If Dak had Romo's accuracy that defense would have been shredded. They played zone a couple of times and Dak couldn't get the receivers the ball. A couple fell at their feet. Yes, Giant's played good D in the secondary. Dak is a rookie who needs to work on accuracy.

I disagree and think the offense will be fine.

We all just need to take our medicine as everyone has wanted this team to lose forever and to have NY do it when most of the national media guys are giants and eagles fans makes it worse but i don't think we have turned into a bad team overnight.

I think the wr are a good group and will be fine.

I will say it...is Witten part of the problem? Sure he is a crafty old vet player...he can find open spots, but last night, he and TWill seemed to always still be short of the 1st down.

Can Witten as he slows down, be costing us. We need a TE that can get down field like he used to get down field.
I love Witten. but just asking is it time for him to get less snaps. I may get roasted for this, but it is my opinion just throwing it out there.

Not saying do it now, but they need to address this at some point.

Very disappointed in Dez. He needs to create separation. Maybe he did and we did not see it, but Dak, did not either, nor maybe he didn't have the time.
It was just a great defensive effort on the part of NY. They sold out on getting to Dak, and they did. It worked.

Don't believe that at all. Seen Dak miss too many wide open big plays down the field.

They're open and he's just not seeing them.
Dez was clueless last night. At least 3x incompletions were all on him. He gave up because he thought he wasn't getting the ball. Both interceptions were on him.

Sturm posted this: "The receivers did not look open from the TV copy".

There were several shots from the camera behind the QB where you could see the wide receivers fan out and not get open.

My guess is the receivers are getting sufficient separation, and the QB isn't confident enough to make the throw. On a 3 to 5 step drop, a receiver isn't going to be running wide open. The QB still has to fit the ball into a window.

We'll know more when the all 22 is released.

This post makes no sense. Dallas has had no trouble with separation this year. They rolled up eight consecutive 400+ yd games. I don't buy it. Defenses have adjusted to what the Cowboys do best and now it's time for Linehan and the offense to respond.

Correct on this one, there was one play in particular that Jenkins knocked the ball away from Dez that had Dak thrown him open on the slant its a reception and more yards after but he threw it late for the play and Jenkins made the deflection. This is what he needs to learn that Romo already does.
