All throughout training camp and several times during the preseason game vs. the Broncos, we've seen/heard about alot of screen plays.

With the transition to a more agile, light-footed finesse offensive line that can get to the 2nd (and 3rd) levels on a defense, I think our screen passes are going to be a primary feature of our offense.

Felix Jones and DeMarco Murray can be lethal when they get in some space, as well as Dez Bryant and Miles Austin.

I am excited to see this aspect of our offense grow and succeed.

I agree with you.

We have had great RBs and WRs for the screen game the last few years. Now we have finally added the OL who are athletic enough to get out and make blocks in space. Last year we only had Free and Kosier. Now you can add Arkin and Smith to the list.

A great screen game takes some of the starch out of the opposition's pass rush and should buy Romo an extra tick in the pocket.

We need to get really adept at it so we can throw it to multiple players out of multiple formations and at any down and distance.

I love it. We have the backs to do it and it really keeps the defense from just pinning their ears back and getting after the QB.

There's no doubt we drafted OL with the screen game in mind.

Felix was great on screens and swings last year, and that was with Columbo at RT. I think you're right that this is going to be a big part of the offense this year, even more than last year. Felix is lightning on those swing passes, and a guy like Smith who can get to the 2nd and 3rd level will probably spring him for more than one long TD.

I love seeing mobile OL trucking people at 2nd and 3rd level.

Free and Smith are no brainers for that.

Long-term I hope Arkin G/Costa C can do that as well.

I'd love to find another really athletic G to play RG who can pull and run.

I would have happy pants for a week if Free got down field and flattened either Nnamdi or Asante on a screen.

An.

Entire.

Week.

If there's one thing about Andy Reid's offenses I like is the screen. Such a great way to slow down pass rushers going up field full bore and to counter blitzes.

screens and sweeps

The backs are perfect for these kinds of plays now that no speed Barber is gone. That is why Holland cannot start. He can't get out on these plays and will get killed on blitzes and by quicker DT's
