Our season probably hinges on these areas

Darnold benefitted from top defense in the lwague and a great running game and he was given arguably the best WR in the league.

The QB does make a difference if they are Elite. They tend to perform with less resources. Good QBs need some help, run game or better Wrs, or top notch defense. But it comes down to what they can do once given those resources. Coaching in those cases matter a lot.
I'd largely agree...This isnt a Dak good or Dak bad argument, it's a bigger point about the position in general. Put a good QB in a good situation and you'll get good results. Put a good QB in a bad situation and you're fighting to break 500 for the year. There are probably more "good" QBs around the league that you can win with than people realize though....there just are not a ton of good situations around the league.

I'd have to double check the numbers, but I think among the top 15 cap hits at QB last year only like 6 of them even made the playoffs. Teams spend so much time & resources developing and paying QBs, but once they get paid it can really handicap the rest of your roster unless your owner is willing to throw money at the problem like the Rams and Eagles have done.

Why do you guys always ask him to prove posts like that to you? He’s not gonna do it for one. Second, we have a whole hate brigade. We’ve seen some of the dumbest Dak takes bar none. That wouldn’t even be the wordy one. A poster on here said Dak is insecure because he has tattoos and he can’t lead lol. Then there’s the Dinucci is gonna take his spot…Andy Dalton is better….ive seen a lot of them.
and you Dak bots always excusing his failures

I would put RT as a serious concern as well
Steele is not getting any better and will probably get worse
he is already a serious liability as a pass protector

Our season hinged on Jerry not being GM. Since that didn't happen everything else is just minutia. The season has already been a failure.

Yep, I think I'm of the minority of one that believes that left and right offensive tackle performance will determine the success of this season.

REGARDLESS of how Schott, Adams and Riley try to scheme and/or help them.

I don't think either will be able to pass block effectively for a full season and this will lead to team losses.

-Left tackle is the top concern, no doubt.

-Not worried about LB unless there’s a ton of injuries, and from what I understand, they will be using only two in most sets.

-Overall, I’m a bit concerned that they may have gotten a bit complacent on offense while trying to fix such an awful defense. This offense was far from perfect and if Guyton hasn’t improved, he is capable of bringing the entire thing down.

They need another playmaker somewhere. That could easily be Blue, or maybe Trigg emerges, or Turpins role could expand (not recommended lol) but I do think they need someone else to step up and be a threat beyond CD and GP.
They passed on Lomu and Trost in the draft.

Both instant starters at LT.

Sorry I ended up writing a small book on that one lol
Ya know its funny though, because when it's your version of long winded blueblood type prose I have no problem reading it, agreeing with it and appreciating it.

As the OP stated 6 areas of concern, 4 of them are defense related. Agreed, with that.

Lots of new players, plus the "leftover vets" trying improve last year's disastrous performance.

Plus a new face, first time DC, trying to put the pieces together is no easy task, merits the concern.

In my opinion, and that's is what we share here, would probably be area #1
priority.

Another area, not to say only 2, is the QB position. I'm not confident that the current 2 backups on the roster could admirable fill in if Dak goes down.

I sure hope they change my thought process when the opportunity present
itself.

We don't use two TE's in the passing game. Only way another TE stands out is if Ferguson goes down.
