In order of oldest to youngest:
WR
6'0 Patrick Crayton born April 1979 is 30
6'3 Roy Williams born Dec 1981 is 27
6'2 Stanback born April 1984 is 25
6'3 Austin born June 1984 is 25
6'2 Hurd born April 1985 is 24 (in his 4th year, wow)
6'2 Ogletree born Aug 1987 is 22 (just turned 22)
TE
6'5 Jason Witten born May 1982 is 27 (OMG only 27 and in his 7th year)
6'6 Martellus Bennett born March 1987 is 22 (OMG the upside)
6'2 John Phillips born June 1987 is 22
You can see that there was a sliver of truth to the cut TO because of the needed growth in younger players (I always felt that was mostly BS and a spin job). Roy Williams might not be a top 5 dominant #1 WR but he can be a real solid possession receiver signed for a number of years. People forget he is only 27 and is in his prime.
I think the only glaring need remains a true downfield burner to open up the field underneath for our other WR's, TE's, and RB's. I'm not sold on Austin's consistency yet, and his ability to get open regularly enough to keep defenses honest.
Not a bad developing nucleus of pass catchers on that list though, particularly when it does seem very true that it takes a few years for most WR's to really adjust to the NFL game and hit their stride. Most of our guys are just hitting that age, and a number of them still have some upside!
