Outside of Ray Lewis - Does midnight bring any possible excitement to us?

hey guys, quick question, year after year I enjoy staying up late into the wee hours of the morning to see if anything is going down at the ranch. I know that Jerry Jones has mentioned time and time again that Dallas will not be making a splash in free agency, my question however is this - outside of Ray Lewis, is their a player on the market who would create a splash if he were to land in dallas? Someone that actually fits our system and needs? Or am I just better off going to bed early tonight? I guess Haynesworth would be a huge spalsh but I don't think that is realistic. I am trying my best to be somewhat realistic here.

Lewis wouldn't bring excitement to me. Five years ago it would have been a different story. Now it just means Jerry is overpaying for a 30+ year old again.

Nothing really and im not that excited about Lewis joining because he's just using us as leverage. I think we'll let the market drown out and sign a few 2nd tier free agents.

whether Ray Lewis excites us or not - he would be considered a splash in free agency.

dbair1967 - lol. I agree though, some here will be ripping Jerry come noon tomorrow for letting Free Agency pass us by so we are left with the dregs of the NFL to choose from.

I;d be happy to come out of the weekend with a backup qb and 12 million left in cap room.

The most exciting thing I can think of is Ray Lewis signing with the Ravens or Jets or anyone other than us.

Actually, I really like the Ravens FA Safety....

why, do you like safety's that dont make plays?

we already have several of those, including one who just got a 40 million dollar contract

Jim made plays in the playoffs and is also a punt returner. he reminds me of Dustin Pedroia from the Boston Redsox. he's small but plays as hard as anybody in the league.

what plays? catching a ball that was thrown right at him?

I've not seen one thing from him that makes me think "wow, we need this guy"

he's just another end of the roster type guy...always somebody that is looking to be replaced

On April 28, 2008, Leonhard signed with the Baltimore Ravens. He started in 13 of 16 games played in the regular season, replacing the injured Dawan Landry. Leonhard set career-high marks with 85 tackles and one sack to go along with an interception. On November 30, 2008, Leonhard scored his first NFL touchdown in a 34–3 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. In his first two NFL playoff games, Leonhard has recorded one interception with a 20-yard return, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, a half-sack, one pass deflected, 11 tackles, and a 29-yard punt return. In addition, his pass-rush pressure on Titans quarterback Kerry Collins in the divisional playoff game helped cause a key intereception deep in Ravens territory.[1][2]
