This kinda piggy backing off of my other thread...But eliminating all of the obvious candidates and trading back is off the table. Who are some other names you think could/should be considered?

Jessie Bates? Ronnie Harrison? Vander Esch? Would you take a CB like Hughes or Jaime Alexander? Who else?

Hughes yes. Alexander no. I like him but he's a slot CB and we have a bunch of those. We need a guy who can lock up opposing team's #1 guy on the outside.

I really like Bates but that seems like a meteoric rise.

19 seems high for Harrison and Vander Esch but not so much that it would be an epic reach.

The TE named Dallas. can't think of his last name.

Goedert...not a bad name to add to the list

Harold Landry should also be in consideration.

Just trying to generate discussion on names other the same 4 or 5 guys that have a pretty good chance to not make it to 19

Well. I wouldn't touch alexander just based on the fact of all of the @Alexander jokes to follow. 5 years of that is a lot. LOL

Wynn, Hernanedez, Payne, Hughes, Harrison would all be my least favorite but understand we got cleaned out & couldnt trade back sortve picks.

Lorenzo Carter 4.4 forty coming off the edge with Demarcus Lawrence off the other edge

Have you watched his tape? He was playing a little out of position but the tape doesn’t match the athleticism at all

Vander Esch wouldn't be a bad pick especially if we let Hitchens walk. He has the size to play either SOLB or MLB off the bat, and has the athletics to be a 3 down LB, even at 256lb

no way if we are reaching that high for a TE its got to be Geiske from Penn State hes got some awesome measurable big strong fast, natural catcher,, been compered to Greg Olson

I brought up Harold Landry bc it wasn't a commmon name on here but I'm not sure he'll be available at 19 after showing full health and destroying the combine.

How about Justin Reid? Well balanced safety who is solid against the run and pass and just showed us he has elite athleticism for the position.

His bro was a 1st rounder, and Justin was more productive his final year and a better athlete.

Courtland Sutton
Harold Landry
Ronnie Harrison
Dallas Goedert
Vander Esch
Justin Reid

I’m a big Penn State fan...I’ve seen a ton of Gesicki. I like him but his combine shouldn’t make him a 1st round pick all of a sudden. His blocking leaves a lot to be desired and he wasn’t consistent enough for me. #50? Absolutely.

But for the record, I wouldn’t touch Goedert at 50 either

Add me to the Justin Reid group. I think he rises a bunch post-combine. His film is strong. Super athlete. Probably a first rounder next year if he had stayed in school. He's just underrated because he's young.

I think Gesicki goes RD1 but #19 seems too high.

Is Josh Jackson still considered a CB or is he seen more like a Malcolm Jenkins and ultimately moved to safety? Same with Carlton Davis. Mid 4.5s is slower than ideal if you ask the CBs to man cover. Might be a fit here at Byron Jones' S spot.

that was my point if someone's throwing out an out of the box surprise reach and dallas G is the one they choose Geiske better IMO although no one will know at this point but Dallas G reminds me of Fasano which isn't bad but Geiske reminds me of the new highly skilled type lie Eiffert etc

Will Hernandez,G-Utep
James Daniels,C/G-Iowa
Orlando Brown,OT-Ou
DJ Moore,WR-Maryland
Rashaan Evans,LB-Alabama
Ronnie Harrison,S-Alabama
Courtland Sutton,WR-Smu
Harold Landry,DE/LB-Boston College

this is as outside the box as Id like.
That’s an excellent list for who is likely to be available at 19. There may even be a good move to be made by trading down a few spots and picking up an extra 3rd or 4th rounder.

wouldnt mind that...accumulate some xtra picks.
and I wouldnt mind 1 from the list.

I need to watch his tape but i do remember him flashing multiple times during the CFP. Enough that i distinctly thought, hey we should look at that other Georgia linebacker.
