Over - Under:
Romo Will either be back to being productive or totally done after Game 5?

There will be a mixture of tough challenges and "Lesser Opponents" that Romo and company will face thru Game 5. Some hopefuls believe it's just rust, others haven't defended Romo since 2009 when the last O-line collapsed on him.

Today he has a great line once again but is it too late? I'm amazed at how many here have finally noticed Romo's passes don't have typical NFL quality velocity or "Zip." The deep ball hasn't been there in a while either and many finally noticed that to. When receivers have to stop and come back for the ball time after time, it gets ugly. It's a sad day for the fan base but the writing has been on the wall for quite a while now, it's just becoming more and more obvious to the casual fan.

Many have already taken the under as we've seen in the bench Romo thread but we realize tempers run high after a humiliating defeat. So we've had some time to cool off and rationalize, maybe it's just rust. Romo and Witten have been dinking and dunking for a few years now but those passes have been getting shorter and shorter but I digress..

Will Moxy be back by Game 5 or is it over? Personally I don't even think our $100-Million QB can be much of a bus driver at this point, I'm ready to start the Weeden era not because he won't make similar bone headed plays resulting in countless picks because we all know he will but because at least he can throw the ball with some velocity and make throws Romo can't. Weeden = improved bus driver but not much more. I want to see Weeden start before or after Game 5.

What say you, Over/Under Game 5?

I fully expect Romo to play well this coming weekend. He has been able to bounce back from poor outings before and I fully expect him to do so this coming game

I expect SOMEBODY in this organization to demand that we run the ball. I fully expect Romo to stay exclusively with the short passing game and hope for the best, after all, if they did that yesterday we should have won.

This is the one and only time you'll ever hear me say this but JERRY demand a 75-25% run mix.

People keep saying weak arm, etc but that ball he threw to Harris went 59 yds. It was the timing that was off, which we saw all day yesterday. He looked uncomfortable all game due to IMO no practice.

I'm going with this. It's the best we can hope for.

Romo has to put so much air under his deep passes that they look like punts. The only reason that pass wasn't intercepted was because the corner misjudged when to jump for the ball. It was not a good throw at all and more times than not will be picked. Hopefully Romo can shake off the rust and and bad decisions. That's something I think that will be possible to correct. At this stage in the game though, I think his days of throwing a decent deep ball are behind him.

The problem is that his deep ball is getting more and more air under it. Sort of like a punt in many ways. Think about it this way, any MLB outfielder can throw home but some can get it there on a line. Same thing applies to 3rd basemen, watch a guy with a rocket for an arm versus one with an average arm. The guy with the stronger arm will get some additional outs because the ball makes it to first a split second quicker. Back to Romo, watch a game from five years ago and then watch one from last year. I think you will see that his deep ball is getting more air under it. I think you also see that his intermediate throws have less velocity and as a result have more air under them. A player like Romo, who had an average arm to begin with, is going to have a tough time competing when his velocity drops. Less velocity equates to more time for the defender to react and an already small window becomes almost miniscule. Time will eventually tell the tale, but I don't expect a player that has diminished velocity in week 1 to somehow find it week 2. Interesting times for this team indeed.

I would not go to that extreme we are not that good at running the ball to play that way. I say more like 60-40.

God I would love nothing more for Romo to knock off that rust and just ball his *** off for the remaining of the year, A LOT of Cowboys fans would be eating some crow. The first sight of trouble they bail, and for you ... Brandon Weeden?! I'ma get banned if I keep seeing posts like that lol.

I dont think he's lost his arm. But he's lost some velocity. That throw to Harris was a duck, Harris just made a great play. That play was like a hail mary, 3 players just waiting for it to come down, Harris just came down with it.

So first you happiky quote a bench-Romo thread (which is where you should be), then you purport to ask a question that you yourself answer, and then double down by saying Weeden is better than Romo.

Nothing quite as vain as a thread created under the guise of soliciting opinion when in fact it is just another repetitive screed.

FYI - having a bad game and being worse than Weeden are two entirely different things. But you wouldn't understand...

The play reminded me of Brett Favre era post the Holmgren. At least once or twice a game Favre would throw a pass up for grabs exactly like that.

I agree, but he's 34 and coming off of rehab with lots of missed practice time. Peyton struggled on the deep outs as well coming back.

Speaking of not understanding, I didn't exactly say Weeden was better than Romo, I basically said Weeden has more arm strength to make throws Romo can't make anymore but that he will still make the bone headed plays resulting in multiple picks, but whateves. Denial is a mug...
