We went to day 2 and for the first time ever, we sat in th ebleachers on the defensive side of the field. Observations:

1) This was easily the least amoun tof people I have ever seen down near the fields. The old way you would pay 20 or 25 dollars for the DC United membership and then you could go down near field as many days as you attended camp. Now, you pay the fee, plus an additional 10 dollar fee EVERY TIME YOU GO. I think this was the reason there were so few people down on the fence by the field. It really changes my view on going. Look... im doing pretty well, the 10 bucks is nothing for me, but it is just the point of geting nickled and dimed that bothers me. This was likely the last time we go to camp. Instead, we will just stay up in norcal and go 2 days of golfing somewhere else. Maybe hit Lake Tahoe??

3) I would love to see video of an entire day of camp in 1984 vs today. These practices seem so laxed. Hardly any running for the sake of running. Could be simply because they come in to camp in so much better shape than players of the past, but these practices really just seem laid back.

4) Dak was working QB drills on our side. They took a snap, faked a handoff and depending on what the coach did, would continue to roll out and throw about a 30-35 yard pass into the corner. Dak's passes on this were terrible, wobbly, and not very accurate. The new QB, Trysten, I dont think he even got to run a play with the offense when the defense was also lined up.

5) Byron Joes was working on the side with a strength and conditioning coach. He told my daughter he was fine, just working himself back in slowly. He was super cool.

6)The event keeps getting smaller and smaller. They used to have a kids area with a blow up bounce house and large slide.... that is gone. The parking area, for a normal car, was like driving through mountanour terrain needing a 4 wheel drive. The young kid kept directing me to a spotm, but I wasnt about to drive through that crap and went around.

7) Weather was absolutely perfect on MOn. and Tues, the days I was there.
8) Lstly, Im tired of my daughter kicking my arse in golf.....lol

Next event, 49ers pre season game!

Not doing something just for the point it only limits your own experience. It has zero impact on the team or the NFL.

TC is nothing like it was with Jimmy but Parcells camps were not like Jimmy's either.

TC under Garrett is more intense and organized than they were with Wade Phillips.

Great observations !

I’m surprised you went for two days after your parking fee rant earlier in the week :lmao2:

.

I dont think I said anything about trying to make any poin tto the cowboys or the NFL. Not liking to be nickled and dimed is MY THING, for me only.... not trying to make some statement to anyone on the Cowboys. It was just kind of blah, for me this year. I wont be writing any long emails to Jerry complaining about the experience.

So you think 40 bucks for parking for a training camp practice is ok???
In any event, IM military so day 1 was free. Took the Honda accord instead... paid 10 bucks.

Its $40 dollars, it is California.....that is nothing. I paid $25 just to park to go see a movie at Universal. You are getting up close and personal with players and practice, 10, 20 or even 40 is worth it.

BTW, I’m glad military gets a discount, should be free though IMO

it was free for all vets and a guest on Military Appreciation day. Free parking and free field access. Being in Ca doesnt mean I will pay 40 bucks for parking at training camp. Like I said, that 10 bucks is nothing to me, but if you brought 3 kids with you, that is 35 dollars times 4, plus parking of 10, possible 20 or 40 on a weekend. Thats 150 bucks and that could be crazy expensive for some families. It isnt just 10 bucks for field access, you also needed to buy the DC United membership for 25 dollars as well. If you didnt do the DC united, it was strangely 35 dollars for 1 day field access..... the EXACT same if you bought the DC United....
