The Cowboys still are the big deal in Texas. They are the top team any way you count things (except NFL standings). BUT if they continue to fail to make deep playoff runs AND the Texans do plus add a true marquee super star or two things could change. It could possibly even up at least.

Back in the late 1970's and early 1980's the Houston Oilers were very good. They had the marquee guy in Earl Campbell. But they never got to the big game. They never got over the hump. And the Cowboys were good enough to win a couple of SB in that era. All the Oilers ended up with was a one way ticket to Nashville TN.

Every era is different. To get to the top the Texans have a lot of work to do. To maintain their status the Cowboys best get to work defending it. Time will tell.

MM is a decent coach but this is yet another example of players shooting off their mouths, giving other teams " blackboard material" and not fear reprisal from our HC.
