I just ordered Owens new book off of a popular online site for a total of $17.99.
Here's my thing. I just get the feeling that maybe we are not getting Owens side of the story. There are two sides to every story, and we know that Donovan McNabb and the Eagles are media darlings. McNabb simply can do no wrong. Therefore, he and the Eagles will be portrayed in the best light possible by the media. That, in turn, will put Owens in the worst light possible, and it has. I just don't feel like Owens has had his chance to tell the story from his side, which obviously is not the medias side.
Let me just say, I hated Owens when he was an Eagle. Granted, partially because he was an Eagle, but partially because of his actions on the star and his "me" attitude. But I will read it with an open mind and from a more unbias point of view. I will be sure to post a "book review" when I finish it. I have read other reviews, and I find that they tend to run on "party lines", that is, Eagles media continue to bash him and his book.
I must acknowledge, I do not hate Owens at this point. He is now a Cowboy, so I will support him. I, at this point, would stop short of saying that I am a fan of him, though that might change and maybe his book will shed some light on events that have made him such a media target.
Here is a guy who played in the SuperBowl despite the advice of medical doctors, looked across the huddle as his starting QB was puking and choking, then watched that same starting QB receive a new contract in the following offseason, as Owens was ignored after risking his career. Who would not be upset?
Should be interesting..........
