Owner Jerry Jones is confident that Terry Glenn (knee) "is going to be a factor" for the Cowboys in 2008.

Jones indicated that Glenn will likely only play this season if he postpones more surgery. It seems as if Glenn is leaning that way. The Cowboys still can't rely on Glenn, who turns 34 in July, to be a full-time player.

Relying on Glenn and chancing a superbowl run on a chronic knee injury at a key position would not be smart.

I have to believe that Jerry will bring in a WR to start opposite Terrell Owens. I have my hopes that it will be Roy Williams. I am not however, getting my hopes up.

We will draft one early to be safe. And I mean aside from one play, Crayton filled in quite well

The offense would have been oh so much better with a healthy Glenn

I believe he'll bring in someone to help the WR core for the long haul.

Crayton is a good #3 that killed the Cowboys when it counted most. I don't dislike him or want him cut, but he runs his mouth like a #1. Dallas needs a better #2 than him. I am suprised Glenn could be a factor next year. Heck, I'm suprised he may be on the roster.....sometimes JJ is loyal to a fault.

I find this hard to believe. I really doubt Glenn can return to his old form, maybe he will just be a spot duty player this year.

We need another receiver opposite TO and Crayton proved he could not handle it. Ergo, that is why we have interviewed a ton of WRs at the combine.

I agree with the majority.....TG cannot be relied on in '08 and only be a spot duty player, we have enough spot duty WRs----we need a horse who can take some of the load off of TO.

I would be shocked if TG was even on the team this season. Unfortunately, injuries have taken their toll on him and we need to move forward. Look for JJ to find a veteran receiver either in FA or trade.

I think it's the perfect time now to bring in a player that is a proven, yet young #1 WR to compliment TO and to transition us out of the TO era easily.

I think we should draft a WR in the 2nd-3rd round range. However, I wouldn't be shocked at all if Glenn came back next year.

We need to prepare for the future and bring in a vet or spend a top pick on a WR. If Glenn does give us one more year, that is great. In any case we have to be ready for life after Glenn.

I still don't believe Glenn will be the player he was a year ago for Dallas, I definitely think they should address that situation via free agency or draft.

While it would not surprise me that Glenn tries to come back this season, but to rely on him on JJ's part makes no sense to me.

Mentally, I would look at any production by Glenn as a bonus, but I wouldn't be putting any eggs in that basket.

We HAVE to draft and develop a potential number 1 WR this year. I'm not saying the WR will be a number 1 in the next two years, but that WR needs to have the tools to eventually be a number 1 WR if groomed properly.

I hope he restructures his contract - to kill or almost kill any roster bonus that is coming up for 2008.

I could live with the following scenario

  1. TO
  2. either Fitz or Williams or someone worthy of #2 status
  3. Crayton / Glenn alternating plays
  4. Hurd and Austin as we work on Stanback for near future

Its time to move on from TG, he is not the same player he was anymore and his spot can goto a younger cheaper option.

Even if Glenn was the same player Dallas would be wise to find a younger player to bring to the team. A healthy Glenn and healthy TO are not long term players and that is what Dallas will need. I am not sure on cheaper because it costs money to get quality and it is not as if Glenn is extremely expensive. A younger alternative will probably end up costing more than Glenn and that is okay.

But where is the room for the stud WR we will likely draft?
